Re: Help me love this game!
in a way you're giving the game a backhanded compliment!!! You're not supposed to know what's going on or what's going to happen. You only set up what you think will produce the desired outcome, but due to literally thousand of variable (in real life, it's millions), what transpires is usually a ...

Help me love this game!
I'm no newcomer to Grigsby games- I LOVE WITE, WITW, and WITE 2- but I finally got around to trying this and I'm really struggling to enjoy it. I can see the depth and detail of the simulation - maybe I'm thinking about the game "the wrong way". Please, convince me to approach this game with a ...

TOAW III Scenario Catalogue?
Hello everyone:
I was looking to get into some TOAW III scenarios to expand my horizons a bit and I've been trying to get some info on which ones have a PO in particular as I tend to play SP. I've seen some references to Shunwick's TOAW III Catalogue which seemed to have a lot of useful info, but ...

Re: Smolensk 41 - messed up by update?
OG Darrell999 on the thread! (OG - noun, slang - someone or something that is an original or originator and especially one that is highly respected or regarded).
Cpt K - when you played 2 years ago was it TOAW4 or one of the earlier versions? Section 19.2 in the manual briefly touches on TOAW 4 ...

Re: Smolensk 41 - messed up by update?
I really appreciate all the conversation, but the irony is no one ever addressed the original question I was getting at of what changed in the game engine

Re: Very confused on how force supply stockpile and supply point values relate to hex supply values
So when I set a value for a supply point in the editor, say, 75, and then see that number on the supply point in the game, what does the 75 represent?

Re: Very confused on how force supply stockpile and supply point values relate to hex supply values
Location Supply Value is derived from the Variable Supply Point value being traced to, which is derived from the Force Supply Stockpile value.
I’ve always been uncertain about what the supply bubbles actually represent. Suppose I’m using New Supply rules and I select a formation. Supply ...

Re: Very confused on how force supply stockpile and supply point values relate to hex supply values
How is the variable Supply point value derived from the force supply stockpile value, and how does this relate to the number shown on the supply point counter/ set in the editor?
Variable Supply Point value is set in the Editor by the scenario designer. The supply derived from that supply ...

Re: Very confused on how force supply stockpile and supply point values relate to hex supply values
Basically my question is whether the force supply stockpile level or the supply point value is the base value for hex supply values we see in the trace tool. For example, in this thread:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=4591519#p4591519
The equation is given:
Location Supply ...

Very confused on how force supply stockpile and supply point values relate to hex supply values
Hello all:
I have a question on supply. I realize this answer likely exists on the forum somewhere, but I have searched the forum, read the manual, and watched the YouTube tutorials, and I'm still very confused on this point, because I have found what appears to be conflicting information ...

Re: Smolensk 41 - messed up by update?
I tried playing it again this week and the Soviets just annihilate me. I don't mean just that I lose, but that without fail, on turn 2, the Soviets attack again and again such that about 70% of my forces evaporate and I'm left with just a few battered units.
Just a confirmation - I'm getting ...

Re: Am I misunderstanding supply, or is this just a tough scenario?
Really helpful guys, thank you. Yes it's baffling that such a critical element of the scenario is hidden from view and not documented. Especially since the designer took so much time to create all these events in the first place, it's not like writing a line in the briefing that supply points will ...

Am I misunderstanding supply, or is this just a tough scenario?
Hello everyone:
I'm still learning the ins and outs of TOAW. I'm struggling with supply on a scenario and wondering if it's just a tough scenario design or if there's something deeper I'm missing.
Specifically I'm playing Double Eagle 3.4, the Russo-Japanese war, as Japan. In this scenario, there ...

Re: Smolensk 41 - messed up by update?
I think it's the improved TOAW IV engine on an older scenario. The scenario was created a while ago. One turn and I got my butt kicked as Gerry - PO settings - Strong and None.
Tried again - - Strong and +2 - dug in as Gerry just to get to turn 3 - butt kicked
Tried again - tried to swing north ...

Re: Smolensk 41 - messed up by update?
Thanks! I guess I'm asking a much more specific question though. I'm not questioning the scenario design or the best way to play Smolensk; rather that I played it before and now I'm getting a radically different AI behavior, suggesting something changed perhaps in a patch that I'm trying to ...

Smolensk 41 - messed up by update?
Hello everyone:
About two years ago I played the Smolensk 41 scenario as the Axis as there was a good tutorial for it. It seemed reasonably well balanced.
I tried playing it again this week and the Soviets just annihilate me. I don't mean just that I lose, but that without fail, on turn 2, the ...

Hello everyone:

Re: Babylon 5 Mod
I don't suppose anybody still has this? All links are dead.
B5 mods must have some kind of curse. I've seen them started for dozens of games and 100% of them seem to eventually be abandoned.
