Thanks for answering it just catches me unawares sometimes when i might want to advance an adjacent unit rather than the one that has already used up it's attack potential.
At least I know now - something else for the general (me) to think about. [:)]

Platoonist - many thanks I guess i thought because UK at war with Japan - France would be too - sorted now. [:)]

There seems to be an automatic advance after destroying another un[&:]it, (although not every time). Is there any way to prevent this automatic advance happening?

Apparently my disc is only a base copy of the game & not a gold copy. However i have learnt from Battlefront how to make it work with Win 10.
So I do now have a working base edition of the game - to relearn.[:)]
