Re: Question about the Bialystok-Minsk pocket, and pockets in general

1. Create gaps/holes with the infantry, and start pushing through the panzers. I also push as much infantry as well to keep them close to the far flung armor. This will support the flanks of panzers and relief them of containment.
2. I start reducing the pocket on day 1 with any available infantry ...

Re: Ah, the Air War Again

Noob question? I’ve seen several posts, attack the fighter bases first, first wave (1 day), then bombers, second wave (2 day), makes sense. But how do you determine if the bases are a fighter base, bomber base, recon base? How do you find that out?

Re: Planned battles

Greetings,
I play to squeeze out as many tactical rounds out of a game turn as possible. But if the tactical situation warrants a 2-3 or more tactical rounds expenditure for a good field position, tactical/stragetic, or envelopment maneuver, then go for it. If it's an attritional stragedy or ...

Same problem here. When my turn is completed and sent, my opponent receives the turn asking for My personal password, curious.

Re: Fite 1.9 Version

Just a quick update, I ended up using the FITE 2 1.11 version which is 1.9 with a slight tweaking of air units. Game plays with no eqp prompt issue.

Re: Fite 1.9 Version

Greetings,
Thank you for the prompt reply to my inquiry. I did what you suggested, and it worked on a human to PO game, reference wrong eqp message.. But when utilizing on an online game the eqp. error message is prompted. I removed all FITE 1.9 versions from TOAW files, and will try again from ...

Fite 1.9 Version

Greetings,
After a few years hiatus from TOAW IV, I am returning to my roots as a wargamer. Question, I am trying to install FITE 1.9 version, to play online. I keep receiving an error message that the eqp file is wrong. Specifically, where does this file go? I am a little rusty, and I've placed ...

It's your settings...attack setting means you advance, limited attack no advance.

RE: Tweaking Force Communications Level in WWII?

<t> An interesting observation. It would also be applicable to France 1940, where the French tank units didn't have tank to tank commo and relied on flags to communicate between tanks and motorized vehicles. Could this be an event where the FCL coukd increase to reflect improvement in communications ...

<t> I too had read the book, seen the film, and actually been to the battle site at Arnhem. I think you captured the scenario yourself. The element of surprise was<br/>

<t> We must be in the same generation and same parallel universe. I started gaming in the 70's with the Avalon Hill war games, ended with the World in Flames board game. A monster game, but the best there was, in my opinion. I graduated to Steel Panthers, as well, and the earlier comp. games at the ...
