SC:WaW in a bundle

If you haven't taken the leap, SC:WaW is in the current "Unleash Destruction Bundle" at Humble Bundle. It also includes Field of Glory II and some fantasy and scifi wargames.

RE: Occasional Crash

Thanks Hubert, but there is nothing there from yesterday's crash. The three files are from last February (Version 1.09). I'll check in the future if I get a CTD.

Occasional Crash

<t> I get a CTD once in a great while, usually during or immediately after combat resolution. It is not very common, just enough to be annoying. Maybe once every 20 hours or so, and I can always load the last autosave.<br/>

Are others seeing this behavior?<br/>

RE: Strategic Bombers vs. Land Units (i.e., Carpet Bombing)

<t> Of course in some of those cases the terrain was so chewed up from 1,000 lb bombs that the Allies couldn't advance, so perhaps strategic bombing of units should add entrenchment!!! [:D]<br/>
<br/>
But seriously, strategic bombers in SC represent strategic bomber wings for strategic bombing ...

RE: Random but persistent CTD

<t> I'm having the same issue. 3 or 4 CTDs over the last month that seem to be immediately after a player-turn combat resolution. It happened again last night. Unfortunately, I looked in the error folder and that CTD is not recorded. The last updates in ERROR were the "common draw unit layer" bug ...

RE: Syracuse Trigger Map

I assumed that "within 12 hexes" is inclusive of 12. I read your sketch as within 11 hexes, which would be an improvement. 10 hexes makes sense to me as it does not include the French ports at Corsica and Algeria.

RE: Italy mobiliization and the DEI

<t> A slight tangent on this subject, but the trigger range of 12 hexes for regular naval units feels a bit too far and risks inadvertent triggering by inexpert Allied players. In addition to Malta and Tunis (unavoidable), 12 hexes incorporates Corsica, Algiers and French and Egyptian coastal waters ...

RE: Accidental AI Kamikaze Exploit

They probably weren't in range of my fleet. So yes, it was probably their only target. But it would be better if the AI would hold for more important targets. The high attack setting against Carriers and Transports make total sense, and should not be wasted.

Accidental AI Kamikaze Exploit

<t> I had a British sub raiding the convoy line west of the Philippines that was spotted by a Japanese destroyer. Following that, three Kamikazes attacked from the Philippines getting only one hit. At the same time I had an invasion fleet one turn away to the east.<br/>

It seems the script that should trigger Italy early is triggering DEI and it doesn't matter if Italy has declared war or not. I just had it happen. So if Allied units come within so many hexes of Italian ports, it triggers DEI to declare war ...

RE: How popular is this game?

steamdb.info/graph/ shows the following All-Time Peak / Current simultaneous players:

WaW 263 / 182
WiE 115 / 76
WW1 145 / 63

So you could say WaW is 2-3 times more popular than WW1 on Steam.

RE: Late game modelling. Might it be improved?

<t> A bit of a philosophical rant, if I may:<br/>
<br/>
It seems to me that this (late game modelling) is a scenario design issue, not necessarily a game engine issue. So solutions should stick to scenario design. Things like changing build limits and adjusting maximum Production and Industrial ...
