Re: Penalty for Axis advance in Egypt

From an earlier thread it looks like this for the USA:

"There is a 50% chance until it fires that USA get 5-10% mobilization if there is an Axis unit within 1 hex of Alexandria, Cairo, or Amman."

I am sure there is a similar sized hit for USSR, but I can't find the details anywhere. Someone will ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

With respect to the game TL reported below I have a couple comments that are not a complaint but an expression of frustration. The game ended in March '47 in accordance with game rules when Japan's NM reached zero....

Harris is correct that Japan fell because of hitting zero NM. It is possible ...

Same here. Several posts in tech support as well about this. Can devs ask for ETA on fix?

Re: What's going on with supply/upgrades in Turkey

Well it is realistic that the Soviets and WAllies are non-cooperating allies. Ideologically incompatible.

Russia yes I can see that. Turkey no I don't see that. In fact they are even members of NATO today and if they had joined they would have been cooperating allies. In fact they did DOW ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

What does "ELO" mean? Is that a mod?

My understanding is ELO is from Arpad Elo who created a player ranking system for chess players using a statistical model where players would gain or loss points with each match based on a number of variables The SC:WAW ELO is a more informal system.

If Turkey is considered Russian territory, could that be the issue.
Spot on. They are uncooperative allies. It doesn't matter who diplo'd Turkey - they align with Russia. Mongolia is the same.
Thanks - that's an annoying mechanic for sure.

Turkey was attacked by Axis and is on Allied side. But can't seemt to upgrade or reinforce allied units despite having 6 or 7 level supply. Is this a bug?
