Re: What Book Are You Reading at the moment?

I like to combine game playing with reading on the subject. I’ve been playing a lot of “Steam & Iron : The Great War at Sea“ from NWS , so I combined this with “Castles of Steel: Britain, Germany, and the Winning of the Great War at Sea” by R. Massie. This dusty&trusty fav of mine that reads easily ...

Hello. I’ve been playing SoW Civil War and Waterloo for about a year and really enjoy this series of WGs . Maybe this post will help other players

FYI : for new SOW players -like me . I found plenty of info and mods still available, but to find them requires searching at:

I just noticed this old post. I’m not sure this is what you looking but might help. MarkT’s Bull Run maps are available as part of a Zip package.

Re: Vietnam gets indepth special

Thanks for a very thorough review. I definitely will check this out. The developer’s attention to improving AI and a “new Enhanced Fog-of-War” is what grabs me . I’ve always thought that video games have the potential to do better FOW and actually put the player view on the board. The Top-Down view ...

Thanks I have been following this awesome project. You mentioned MarkT’s nine mile map 2021.
Is this the “ The True Ground Map -Gettysburg-The Big picture” that is in the link above?

<r> The large blue-white pointer (arrow) included with your group’s Toolbar mod is perfect and is exactly what I need. Using this pointer I can now see where my unit points and facing > 300m. It’s significantly easier to see when locked near ground level HITS @2m. Thanks a-lot! <SM sm="00000436.gif ...

<t> I think there are a lot more choices out there. I wonder how people read forums? Do they read forums mostly on their desktop, laptop, or moblie device? Where do they play? I mostly read forums on a moblie device while on my commute or during work breaks. ( I also shop from my moblie device ...

HITS: Calvary Scouts feeling for the enemy

<t> I tested Calvary scouts and found that they ramble preferentially on roads, in the direction chosen by the player. The "Unit destination " icon on the "All Units Visible" map moves as the AI changes its direction and is not necessarily the "final" destination. When a Scout makes contact an icon ...

Re: Guadalcanal,
Until I played this campaign, I never knew Japanese midget subs were involved at Guadalcanal. Its not mentioned at all in most histories. Some good info about them at combinedfleet site "Midget Submarines in the Solomons 1942"
