Re: Who can explain these radar detection ranges?

Of course, this would make sense, with the powerfull radar of the F-15 vs. the old F-4 radar.

Who can explain these radar detection ranges?

These should be radar detection ranges of a MiG-23MLD according to the poster on bksy. It is possible that it is something else (another radar) because the MiG-23MLD radar will not see even a large bomber at almost 100 km.
As comparison this is the MiG-23MLD performance in CMO:

Re: Drones, and their usage on destroyers and frigates

A while ago I read something about the V-Bat on Dutch naval ships.

They will perform surveillance tasks (10hrs max flighttime) and have three aircraft aboard with only acreww of two persons on board to operate the V-BAT. They onlyt have to attach the wings on the A/C and bring it from the hangar to ...

ANALYSIS OF HIGH ENERGY LASER WEAPON - FROM A NAVY SHIP

Interesting post on https://files01.core.ac.uk/download/pdf/36710555.pdf

A postgrad analysis of laser weapons aboard Navy ships:
A 100 kW beam would needed to defeat a small boat at 1 km, rising to 1.6 MW against a larger threat with a proper hull at 2 km, mainly due to the difficult marine ...

Re: THEY ARE RETIRING THE A-10S!!!

In CMO the A-10 will see the drone, but how will a cueing of a Saab be presented to a A-10 pilot in a dark night without a radar with only NVG's in real life?
Those drones don't have navigation lights...
And what will the A-10 windscreen look like when you BRRRRT a explosive drone... at short range ...

Re: [1776] Hitting GBUs with Iglas

This video gives a very good perspective how long you can possibly see the bombs.
Within 3 seconds they are invisible.

Re: [1776] Hitting GBUs with Iglas

The Kill chain of a MANPADS begins at knowing that a target (in this case bombs) are incoming.
This trigger starts a reaction time to put the launcher on the shoulder and to begin to look for targets in the desired direction.

Secondly the shooter should acquire the target, seeing the target with ...
