Detecting minefields & obstacle belts

<t> What is the best way to detect enemy minefields and obstacle belts? I generally find them when a unit enters a hexagon and takes casualties / must stop to clear. If I understand the manual I think this might be the only way to find them? However, I just had a recon unit enter a hexagon and ...

<t> Okay thanks, good information. I found one NTC scenario so far. Iron Horse 2. <br/>

NTC Scenarios

<t> I've found some references in the forum about the US National Training Center (NTC). I even found an NTC map. However I have not been able to find a NTC scenario. Were any NTC scenarios created and if so where would I find them? <br/>

Smoke Screens

<t> In the game a US M109A2 155mm howitzer can drop smoke on up to three hexagons (5min apart). I've seen the smoke last for different amounts of time in the three hexagons. Example from current game: Hex#1 30 minutes, Hex#2 36 minutes and Hex#3 66 minutes. Any tips on using smoke screens and maybe ...

Helicopter Movement

There are two movement choices for helicopters, deliberate and hasty. I think I understand how these movement types work for ground units. Not so sure about helicopters. What is the preferred movement type for helicopters?

Disembark Distance

<t> When you dismount troops from a vehicle you are given a range of numbers to choose from. My understanding is if you choose a positive number (say two) the troops will disembark two hexes (1000 meters) before the destination hex. If you choose zero the troops will disembark on the destination hex ...
