Planet generation mod questions

I am currently making a mod for my self to make planets i do like.

1) What affects the size of lava lakes? I Struggle to make more fo them. I think higher mountains and lava modifier allow lava lakes to appear. But how to make them bigger and get more of them? (I like them as natural border).

With midcore logistics on, instead of logistics getting split at intersections, the full amount is sent down each branch. Then, when logistics points are used on a branch, 50% of the amount used is deducted from other branches as well.

That would be an interesting economic aspect.

Especially when we can build in the concept of streamlined mass producing versus flexible artisan quality production.

Like researching a new tank is one thing. Having a factory building it on scale is another. Retooling should be a also thing.

Currently I don't see much value in having formations with mixed units. However in military Praxis, the combination of different units (combined arms) is a modern doctrine.

I still have frequent crashes.

I think most of them happen when I change the zoom level.

I'd like it to be something other than "oh my god I used up 2% of my fuel moving across the system I better jump three systems away and refuel instead of attacking one of the fifteen targets within my attack fleet range!"

One big issue is that the player consistently outgrows the AI.
We need better AI enemies.

I can 100% confirm this!
I had an Ackdarian empire spread over 2 Deep Ocean and 1 Ocean world. I found an Ugnari refugee fleet with a two colonizers and an Ugnari Independent colony nearby.
Ugnari style worlds were more common.

We get these bonuses from the scanner or the races.

Not weapon range, but weapon range bonus. Items can have bonuses.

Like the scanning, component gives a weapon damage bonus or the battleship hull gives a weapon range bonus.

Why do you want to add a "weapon range"-bonus to "sensors" ? - Shouldn't it be more logical that they should have >sensor range<- bonuses ? ;-)


What do you think is a sensor? And how do you think do modern ships ...

Some components have no bonuses. And it seems you can only change bonuses of components who had on in the first place.

Is there a workaround?

Context. I tried to add weapon range bonus to sensors.

Or Admirals :)


I dont mean a component. I mean a tech giving a passive buff. A tech that buffs values. Similar mechanic to admirals indeed.


So more like a tech that increases your Races Bonus or ...
