Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

There’s one more aftermath worth mentioning: MacArthur won’t deploy if Australia is conquered before Pearl Harbor. He’s also not available for purchase, either. It would be nice to have MacArthur represented in the game, regardless of Australia’s status.

I wonder if a couple of alternative ...

Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

I'm attaching the same image here again, as it illustrates two or three other issues:

1. The Japanese Corps north of Singapore has been sitting at 0 supply for at least four turns now but hasn’t suffered any attrition loss. I noticed the hex it’s on is a “sea+land” hex—maybe that’s the reason? Not ...

Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

In the v1.20.00 update notes, it states:
"Amphibious Transports can no longer unload from a neutral sea coastal hex."

If this means what I think it means—that Amphibious Transports can't land troops from a neutral sea coastal hex—then I believe this is yet another unnecessary rule (and it doesn’t ...

Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

There are quite a few other things for everyone to consider in this scenario (Japan at war with UK early):

UK would immediately send most of the RN to the Indian Ocean and the waters west of Singapore (but not beyond, which would trigger a huge US upset), along with her experienced air force to ...

Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

Sorry I failed to clarify this post is for information only, there is absolutely nothing against my opponent for doing this. Anything that's not specified is fair game. In fact, I appreciate him for doing this. Learned a lot of things that I would otherwise never know.

Japan eventually paid a ...

Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

A funny thing about the Aussie situation: knowing that Australians continue to fight when they’re not on their home soil (one of the rules I remember), I rushed every Aussie unit to be transported away—anticipating that the country couldn’t be defended and would soon surrender. I wasn’t sure if ...

Re: Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

Is Rhodesia the only loophole in this regard that needs fixing?

A simply fix being to make an Axis declaration of war on the country immediately bring the USA into the war.

That would be too harsh and unnecessary—not to mention very unhistorical. Simply applying the same penalty as a DOW on ...

Japan DOW Rhodesia and its aftermath

In my recent game, my opponent—Japan—DOW on Rhodesia in late 1940 (though this could conceivably be done even earlier), promptly invaded Australia, and conquered it with relative ease in just a couple of turns. He then went on to capture most of the British holdings in the Pacific.

Apparently ...

Re: Supply

If one of the HQs was just moved into the area—such as being unloaded from a port or operated there—the game engine may not have “linked” it with the other HQ yet. This can usually be resolved by simply ending the turn, or possibly by saving and reloading the game.

But after Allies retake it, and left it unguarded, Djibouti reverted to Neutral Vichy.

What about the TRP mod?

It looks intimidating to me. It will take me quite some time to learn.

AAR please!

Not sure if either Taifun or I can find some time to AAR.

Checking my records, my last game was played in 2021. It seems there has been quite some changes to the game since. Most of them good, but SS can now cruise with no loss of supply? That's way overdone.

Well, so ...

Looking for an experienced opponent.

Hi,

Coming back after a couple years of absence. How is everyone doing? What's going on with the ELO rignt now? Where to see its most recent rankings?

Looking for a good opponent who won't ghost me or resign too easierly. ELO or not.

I'd try Allies 1st, and hopefully can play at least into 1943 ...

RE: Long Range Amphibious Transports

<t> I agree it seems more of an exploit to cruise and land in the same turn (I also believe to capture a port and land a whole Army Front in the same turn should be disallowed, that is, freshly captured ports should not be allowed to disembark regular transports in the same turn), but this change ...

RE: Syracuse Trigger Map

<r> Took another look, and I believe the problem is that the distance needs to be counted continuously over water hexes, and land hexes will block it. It's the same as if you have to sail a ship 12 hexes from Syracuse port (I suspect the coding is done with the same algorithm). So I created the ...

RE: Replay function

<t> There is sort of a way to do this, in Hotseat play. At the end of each side's turn, save the game. When you reload it, you get to watch your entire turn's moves. Basically if you save each turn for each side, you can watch all the moves of every turn, or the turns of your choice.<br/>
