The passive spotting range for fighters does not increase with the range. It is done that way for scouting and gives the side with air supremacy the advantage (which is historically accurate) with intelligence and location of the enemy.

I know you removed the ability to place AA upgrades on resources like mines, ports, etc. I understand the reasoning. It's because the AI would make mass purchases and placements of AA all over the place and at great cost.

General question: What are the "hidden" modifiers to unit combat in the mod currently?

Such as armor being less effective in forests, cities or other maluses or bonuses like that.

Fiddled around a bit just looking at stuff and noticed something:

Fighters can get ground attack weapons which improve ground attack, I assume thats intended.

This might not be: Tactical and medium bombers do not gain ground attack values from "ground attack weapons", they gain naval attack values ...

I just noticed that you can now upgrade mechanized units, special forces and so on with lvl 3 infantry weapons. Is this intended? (I hope not, that would be insane).

WaW mods, changing the size of the map to that of WiE?

Title says it all :).

I'm looking for a WaW map that expands the map to be sized like the WiE map, but adding the pacific war to that massive scale.

I encountered that too occasionally that an attack on a unit with like 2 strength forecasts a 0:0 but ends with the enemy unit dead.
I think I read something in the manual about "weak units that want to retreat but can not will surrender"
I never ever saw a unit surrender. But I saw quite a few ...

Random risk of low str units shattering regardless of combat odds?

I was wondering if there is something like this in the game. I've noticed several times when attacking very low str units, at 2 str or so, that they've shattered despite the attack odds being 0-0.

Following this thread and the tests with a lot of interest. :)

Subs really do need help. From all my Multiplayer experiences they get swarmed and die at any stage of the game unless the Allied player really drops the ball.

What are the results of testing the different options so far?

Why would the USSR ever accept the Revised Borders and Friendship Treaty? The USSR moves 5% towards the Axis and Germany is much closer to Brest-Litovsk. Sure you get Lithuania (and Germany doesn't), but does that really make up for it, especially as if Germany doesn't annex Lithuania (as there is ...

I do agree that Subs need some help in these games, especially late game.

The retreat mechanic being what it is (I.e. not kicking in until predicted losses takes it below 50%, and also being quite unreliable in how/where/when it retreats) I'd suggest this;
