Vladivostock

I’m getting my customary beating from Redmonkey & a puzzle has arisen. Nothing is coming through Vladivostok. He’s not blockading the port, Japan is not at war with Russia. It’s Nov 42.

WTH is going on?

New ELO game

CRW1418 (me, Allies) v Old Shane (Axis)

Glutton for punishment, after another gruesome defeat, I’m game for another try & Shane is gracious in accepting the challenge.

Wait, what? Saying yes to the Irish ports is a bad idea? Why?

you don't need them, they are only 5 strength max so you can't even fully repair a ship with it. But the main reason is that it pisses off the USA, so they have less income, which is very bad ...

Re: I bought an airship

I bought an airship. American. A snip at 75 MPPs. Spotting range 10 hexes. May appear in the skies over Italy. Will it be shot down? Should I arrange for fighter escort? Who has experience of this game-changing weapon?

I like them and usually use them in the Pacific for recon.
They definitely ...

Re: Units stalled in Production queue

Now resolved. I had to clear Ambrose to get the destroyer on the map. I’ve been looking at the word ‘Ambrose’ thinking it was the name of the destroyer & not realising it’s actually a place. How dumb is that?

Not dumb at all. You don't know what you don't know. Took me ages to work out how to ...

Re: Units stalled in Production queue

Is it the case that the new units button is lit up and you are prompted to deploy these units, but cannot?

Early in the war, British Destroyers are scheduled to deploy at Clyde and Ambrose, but if you already have the port and adjacent sea hexes full of vessels, then you will need to move one ...

PBEM challenge

As my posts here reveal, I am a noob. Anyone fancy smashing me up? I’m keen but raw. I can reply pretty regularly being a retired person. My preference is for the Allies.

Shoot me a DM if interested & I’ll give you my host name & PW.

type snipping tool in the search bar of your pc. or otherwise look up a tutorial for it online if you use smt like apple. It should have similar tool.

Then you save the screenshot in the tool, there should be a save as button. Then upload the picture by choosing attachments and then add files ...

Re: Units stalled in Production queue

maybe it would help if you post screenshots? Btw, arrivals aren't just categorized by month, but also year. So you can see some units which will come in let's say, May, but only in 41 or 42.

I am such a noob I don’t know how to take a screenshot on my PC. I do understand the game shows scheduled ...

Re: Defence of China

It's not lost if China falls, though it does matter how early it falls, because it gives Japan a lot of MPP from the surrender and frees up many troops. Also, for the victory conditions, Chungking needs to be held by the Allies. So the allies would want to do damage as China vs Japan, not make ...

Re: Defence of China

it does seem somewhat inevitable for China to die quickly. A good Japanese player can dismantle the Chinese defenses in early to mid-1940. From there, the road to Urumchi is still quite long and it's just a matter of trying to delay as long as possible. But it's possible for the Japense to reach ...

Defence of China

When I started playing this game I only played Japan against the AI. After only a few attempts I found I could conquer China by 1943. Now I’m playing PBEM as the allies against my highly competent son & find the defence of China all but impossible. It’s March ‘41 & I’m already retiring on Chungking ...

Re: Units stalled in Production queue

Some reinforcements are location specific. If the location is occupied by friendly or enemy unit(s) they can't be deployed.

Might that be your issue?

No, it’s not that. That UK destroyer, for example, can materialise at any number of ports but fails to do so. The main issue resolved in ...

Units stalled in Production queue

Nov 40 playing the Allies. Various allied nations have units scheduled by the game (ie not rebuilds) to have arrived by now, yet they haven’t. Any possible/likely reasons why not.

Also, & this happens every game, the UK has a destroyer in the New Units dropdown that it can never deploy. The ‘OK ...
