Re: Swapping ships triggers a crash

If you are fixing that perhaps you should put in swapping with air units to another air unit. I know air units and land units is used strategically but air units should be able to switch between themselves.

Re: An Alternative to the Rankings?

Not a bad idea though I do like a ranking system. Maybe we can use a class group like you have put up and then a point system. Maybe with class you get bonus for playing class above yourself and a lesser score for playing below. You then get points for win and bonus points for how quick. Perhaps ...

Re: Swapping ships triggers a crash

Yes I had the same issue as well. Exactly the same, game crashed with same error message. Retried with a different ship for same result.

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

New ELO game begins:

HarrySmith(Allies) vs petedalby (Axis)

Game ends in a Decisive Allied Victory in early '44 as the Axis concede. Can't remember the last time either of us won a game as the Axis!

Harry is a great guy to play. Excellent comms & regular turns.

Axis got away to a great ...

Re: Elvis Gold Records

Hi Elvis,
yes Old Shanes comments are spot on, must be able to buy a reasonable computer for not a huge outlay. In Australia we can as you dont need it to be the fastest. You are a good competitor who I have always enjoyed our games so please go get yourself an appropriate PC. You will the get a ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

I have missed why this topic is under discussion, but if someone plans to create and support new rating I have an idea how to make the games between different level players more interesting.

Instead of win/loss result we can use scores. E.g. Axis: 1 country survived 1947 – 1 score, 2 countries ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

Been awhile since last rankings has been done, so earlydoors if you have time? Then that would be great.
Perhaps not a bad idea to teach someone else also how to do rankings as a back up?
Also a suggestion is if someone hasn't posted a game for 2 to 4 years perhaps they should be removed ...

Re: Elvis Gold Records

Wow, what a game. Japan absolutely blitzed particularly when you look at losses. USA at 1% morale was on verge of surrending. Well done to pull the win as I think these days very hard for Axis to win if Allies played by a good player.

Re: HQ units dropping attachments in Manual mode

Another aspect to HQs is also going off from auto/assist to plain auto mode. I do find auto/ assist doesn't drop units as much as manual. Definitely the units have been in HQ attachment range.

HQ units dropping attachments in Manual mode

Hi guys,
Due to HQ units dropping attachments to units, I have been predominantly been using manual attachment. I still find that the HQ units drop attachments on units even though within range of HQ zone of attachment. It seems to occur after the one unit has had multiple attacks against it. I ...

Re: Looking for an experienced opponent.

You guys should come play the TRP mod.

What about the TRP mod?
It looks intimidating to me. It will take me quite some time to learn.

Yes, it is a bit intimidating. But as a player who has been a bit on-off with the base game, I found it easier to learn. I felt the base game on ELO ...
