Kashtronomical (Axis) defeats firsteds (Allies)

Allies surrender Aug (?) 1944 with Moscow and Perm falling, China surrendered, and Axis domination of the seas, outnumbering Allied vessels by roughly 2:1 ratio.

UK seized the initiative with early invasions of Hamburg and Bergen but were repelled. The relatively slow start for the Axis may have lulled the Allies to sleep, until they were rudely awakened by 4 U-boats and 2 cruisers disrupting convoys off East Africa. The bolstered Italian forces in East Africa seized nearby capitals including Nairobi. Axis declined Vichy and eventually conquered all of France after launching a delayed Barbarossa that produced moderate gains. In the following years, German forces encountered stiff resistance outside Leningrad and Grozny, pivoting instead towards Moscow and Kubyshev/Perm in an attempt to cut off the Soviet forces stranded at the flanks.

In the Asia-Pacific theater, Japan invested heavily in research (including double-chit on Production for cheaper amphib transports) at the expense of early gains in China. The Southern and Central fronts stalled as Japan avoided US mobilization. Attention turned towards a deep invasion of the North which was surprisingly met with a rugged Chinese defense. Eventually the campaign proved successful as the overstretched Chinese resistance wore thin.

One of the key engagements occurred at Pearl Harbor. A full assault and uncertain amphibious invasion of Hawaii took over 3 months to complete. Meanwhile, Bangkok was captured by Allied forces, and only about 50% of the other targets in the Indo-Pacific region were successfully secured as of Japan's entrance into the war. However, the US suffered significant casualties in their attempt to defend Hawaii, losing multiple carriers and battleships. This gave Axis critical time to build and sustain their momentum.

With the oceans secure, Axis threw their full weight at China, India, and the USSR, securing the entire continent before the UK and US forces could attempt any serious intervention.

Craterous defeats Old_Shane Summer 1944
Japan defeated China and was making slow progress in India. IJN mauled the Pacific fleet pretty good.
In contrast, the RN completely destroyed the Kriegsmarine. It was safe and open seas for the Allies to assault Europe. So they did directly into France with strong units and air support. Steady advance right to Berlin. This commander had enough. Resigned to the eventual fate.
