[1328.14] UI: speed and heading is not needed for fixed facilities

CMO's interface is already heavy and cluttered; fixed ground facilities (such as the airport in attached picture) probably shouldn't have a heading and a speed. This will help with readability.

Update Spratly Spat platforms to new Water-Surface facilities

The Chinese platforms in Spratly Spat should be changed to the new water-surface facilities type rather than the deprecated ship-platform type.
This will allow targeting by the tomahawks.

(v1.06.1328.13 added water-surface facilities [(supported only on v504+ DBs). Such facilities are

• NEW FEATURE: Water-surface facilities (supported only on v504+ DBs). Such facilities are
placed on the water surface (not on the sea bottom) and can be attacked with both land-attack
and anti-ship weapons. Examples of such facilities include ...

[FIXED] 1328.10 Create or Update Flightplan UI bug

create e.g. a strike mission -> mission editor -> assign units -> mission settings tab -> "create or update flightplans" button.
Clicking this brings the target tab, but within the mission settings tab, it's weird.

1328.9 UI: Altitude significant digits regression

Hello,

until the war planner update the altitude of units was indicated with no decimal. This helped with the readability of the data blocks, as tenth of a ft are not meaningful at the scale of Command. However the war planner update introduced a number of regressions in the UI (as in, UI code that ...

What's your depth? You want to be inside the layer as much as possible when around hostiles.

Thanks for the hint. Realised that the layers begin below 70° so keep away from coast is counter productive.

Alternatively, if you're around hostiles and near the coast, you want to be on the sea ...

Re: Getting a new Laptop

1080p resolution is good for CMO as it doesn't support that well higher resolutions. Apart from that, it would be a mistake to buy a 1080p screen in 2023.

[RESOLVED] Replace old manual on Steam

Steam still has the old manual (the manual accessible from the launcher is fine, I mean the manual accessible from the Steam store as well as the game page).

Re: Return Flight Path of A/C Group when Leader is Destroyed

Could be similar to the bug I filed here, a save is included too: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 0&t=392655
I don't reach the same conclusions as you though, (happens with more than 1 unit left etc)

Re: Snoopy 1969

This is quite frustrating, the Grishas detect the boat on creep at 22.6 nm with a 15 nm passive sonar. If I was running deep or if I was low they always get me bofore I detect them.

[1307.3] Flightplan deleted as one of its unit is destroyed

Attached save:

Land strike mission "S Serp" is on a flightplan. If a unit is destroyed (should happen by SAM if you play the save), the flightplan gets deleted. This is obviously problematic for the still-alive units formerly part of this flightplan.

Re: Ending a mission

Do i do that each mission after i complete the objectives? I assumed the scenario would end on its own. Do missions not end till the timer runs out?

It's possible to create a little bit of LUA code to end the scenario when the objectives are satisfied. Few scenarios seem to take advantage of ...

Re: [Answered] Towed array

I have played this scenario sub tutorial 2.1 multiple times, however, I have never been able to get a solid contact on the enemy sub. Additionally, I can rarely even get a general contact except at the beginning of the tutorial.

I have followed the instructions, and am a bit frustrated with this ...

I have a submarine that has a sonorbouy detected nearby.

Is it a good idea to come to a complete stop and not change depth, or make a varied depth run for the horizon?
Any suggestions or proffered tactics would be good

Occasionally yes, but if you want the most recent beta you'll want to download it here and copy it into your Steam game folder (to find it, right click on game in Steam -> Manage -> Browse Local Files).

Re: NEZ: a Mig-29 can and will shot down an F-22..

I didn't hear the same level of angst on sonar changes awhile back and those were probably more fundamental than this when it comes impact on ASW and sea control scenarios.

The changes in submarine warfare have been quite drastic indeed, notably on the bread-and-butter of sub ops, the layer. It ...

Re: [1307.2] UI: OoB Units by Type / Mission doesn't hyperlink to DB

Browse Scenario Platforms tells a similar but not identical story, as the OoB Unit by Type view also shows:
* loadouts
* number of units for each type

which both are immensely useful to know.
