Re: P-70 HAVOCS

P-70s can shoot down those sub carried bombers. Happened once in my last game.

Re: Hanging in for a full campaign...

Hum... For the allies 1941 and early 1942 can be time consuming. But as the battle lines become clearer the required time per turn decreases. Then in '43 the allied forces start building up and you go on the offensive everywhere with corresponding planning time commitment. Then in '44 and '45 the ...

Looking to provide free software support for WitPAE

Feel free to delete if inappropriate.

Kinda pointing this at Joe Wilkerson.

Long time WitPAE player and NASA software engineer with 40 years experience and am retiring at the end of this year. With some of my free time I would like to provide _free_ software maintenance support for WitPAE. Bug ...

Why did the Japanese decide to build LSTs in '45

Hi Folks,
Does anyone have insight into why the IJN decided to build LSTs in '45 rather than, for example, DDs or Super-Es? My esteemed Japanese opponent was complaining about it vociferously.
Cheers,
Guy

Re: Late game strikes against Allied CVTFs

Wow, That super strike is awesome and scary. Do you think it would have helped the allies to have smaller but more numerous CVTFs? To spread the love as it were. Or maybe more fighters on CAP but at a lower CAP percentage? Would that give the CAP higher persistence?

Hi RangerJoe, I understand this to mean that a fix was applied to in the official Beta?

Late game strikes against Allied CVTFs

Hi Folks, I looked around for a while, but with over a millions posts for WitPAE it's hard to find the gems.

Stock quiet China, using the old beta.

My esteemed Japanese opponent was remarking that in late '44 Allied CVTFs with 200 fighters (1) on CAP seem invulnerable to heavily escorted strikes ...

Re: Making the last Beta Official

Hi Folks, Using the latest beta with no mods, pbem. This is an actual bug that is possible (but not easy) to duplicate. I see it about once a year (daily turns). When selecting which base to transfer a air unit to, you can sort on range, base size and supply. If there are a lot of bases within range ...

<t> Hi Folks, My googlefu is failing me again. I had to reboot my computer with Tracker open (newest version) and now it appears the database is corrupted. Was there a way to repair the database? I was about 700 turns into a pbem game (stock quiet China).<br/>

WIA Pilots

Hi Folks, My search-fu failed me again. Does anyone have links to the old threads about wounded pilots? I swear I read something about the subject only six or eight years ago. Cheers,
Guy
