Looking to provide free software support for WitPAE

Post by GuyTipton »

Feel free to delete if inappropriate.

Kinda pointing this at Joe Wilkerson.

Long time WitPAE player and NASA software engineer with 40 years experience and am retiring at the end of this year. With some of my free time I would like to provide _free_ software maintenance support for WitPAE. Bug fixes and minor UI updates mainly (1). My experience for the last 20 years is writing real-time software in c, C++ and Ada for the International Space Station, Space Shuttle and Artemis training simulations. If anyone at Matrix is interested then we should talk!

Cheers,
Guy Tipton

(1) Many ideas for minor UI tweaks that would reduce the number of clicks and made the orders phase flow smoother. And I'm sure the folks that currently maintain the code have their own, better informed, punch list.

I'd actually suggest to PM Erik Rutins.

Since he is Matrix Games and they have rights of the game.

Do both. PM Joe and Erik Rutins. Maybe an email to Matrix Games too, with your curriculum vitae.

And good luck !
