<t> Not yet. It is likely to get one or both of those over the course of its lifespan. <br/>

I believe naval warfare plus ocean planets won 'preferred expansion direction' in the first advisory poll Vic put up. No guarantee that it will actually be implemented first of course. <br/>

RE: Discovery not possible while it should be possible

<t> Guided RPGs do not require RPGs and I also cannot discover Heavy Combat Armour in my current game. Tech's definitely bugged.<br/>
<br/>
Note, as I discovered to my shock, developing RPG troopers requires RPGs. Discovering and researching guided RPGs does not. Though it probably should or they ...

RE: how accurate is suitbility?

<t> I agree with zgrssd here. Suitability will generally find the best immediate candidate for the job. Sometimes I disagree with its assessments when assessing very unsuitable candidates. I've had it rate candidates with 0 Command rating as better than candidates with a CMD rating for OHQ roles ...

RE: Issue with cycling between units?

<t> I've had a few weird problems with cycling units, in particular units set to guard mode where I swear I did not hit 0 with either them or their HQ selected. Never all my units. The reason I'm fairly sure it's not fat fingers is well it never affects a full HQ. It will be like half the units of ...

RE: how accurate is suitbility?

Well it goes up to 100 so 20 is not great. However, 20 is more than competent in the early game.

RE: how accurate is suitbility?

<t> No no no. Int only has a bearing on effectiveness using Int skills. Int chars are the best at technical councils and arguably governors. War chars are the best commanders by a long shot, Int makes basically no difference here, and Cha characters are your best spies and diplomats. <br/>

RE: how accurate is suitbility?

<t> Suitability checks characters' skill ratings: technical, command and interpersonal. Skill ratings are simply the highest skill value a char has in a given field. However, suitability is smart enough to check all applicable skills to the role under consideration and discount, though not entirely ...

RE: Warrior Knight with GR Grade Infantry feels op? can someone explain?

<t> Well regular troops are vastly more effective than mutants. For goodness sake, even foot militia outfight mutants! <br/>
<br/>
Okay seriously, a skilled opponent would either fight on fronts where you do not have that unit, force you into an encirclement and kill that unit or force you into a ...

Okay so first of all rare metals are pretty much always in demand. It's really difficult to flood the market with them so they can probably keep you in effective surplus the entire game. If ...

RE: So 126 IP is not enough for 125 IP Need?

<t> So you must have enough IP to get a road connection and you must start construction inside your logistical network. Resources do not limit construction and you do not have to pay anything or be able to pay anything to start constructing other than for roads. <br/>
<br/>
Build near or on a road ...

RE: How are kill hits determined?

Oh right true. You see confusing. They are separate values.

There must be a better name than hitpoints though. Hitpoints are damage you take until you die in every other game.

RE: Overwhelmed by minor regime less than 5 turns into the game

<t> Moons are much, much harder than Siwas. They are the hardest planet type by far. They have the most chance to spawn raiders and slavers and other aggressive minors. They have very poor resources, poor terrain and no habitability. That's the whole point. <br/>
<br/>
I'll roll a Siwa quick with ...

Best guess it's going to be a pretty complicated algorithm based on the difference between the attack and defense roll, the type of units, the type of weapons and armour, the modifiers in play, whether a unit has a special combat ...

RE: Research and Discovery

You do not unlock new fields by discovery only through research. You must research 3 techs to unlock all subsequent fields. This is critical to early research management to ensure you get necessary core techs.

RE: Overwhelmed by minor regime less than 5 turns into the game

<t> Then it's a prioritisation issue. If you encounter raiders early, getting a brigade out becomes priority. If pops starve to fund getting a brigade into the field and supplied, then no jokes they starve a turn. <br/>
<br/>
Similarly a lot of new/inexperienced players do not prioritise ...

RE: Overwhelmed by minor regime less than 5 turns into the game

<t> ^ Weird. Are you playing on Siwas on beginner? If you are raiders/slavers should not be this frequent or deadly. <br/>
<br/>
MG infantry, single brigade, with an attached recon buggy battalion should be able to wipe all raiders by pushing them into pockets and getting that sweet, sweet 200 ...

RE: Overwhelmed by minor regime less than 5 turns into the game

<t> Game explicitly states slavers do not need manpower in the same way. Their heavy presence in your zone allows them to recruit and replenish from your population or sell slaves of your pops to same effect. This is why you check them at your borders, if possible. This is in the manual. It is a ...

RE: Anyone think end turn takes too long?

<t> ^ Interesting. The obvious problem here would be, depending on how unified the different levels of AI for each AI reigime, a single action could invalidate an entire turn. If I take hex X and it just so happens that hex X is a pivot point that converts a stable front line to a disordered mess ...

Godwin I think you are right. It's kinda like a Paradox game right, especially if you are buying in at the end of the life-cycle of a game. There are so many fiddly systems and mechanics that it seems utterly overwhelming but, in fact, you can pretty much just hit play ...
