So 126 IP is not enough for 125 IP Need?

Post by 76mm »

I have 126 IP. I want to build an oil drill (or whatever it's called), which says I need 125 IP. But when I go to build it, it says that I need 125 IP...but I have 126 IP...am I missing something here? All other material build requirements are also met.

it takes two rounds of 125 ip each to build - the cost-to-build is always (# of rounds) times (materials)

if you hover over the picture of the asset the popup gives you the totals of what has been paid and what remains.

now I'd like to build a second oil drill, and I only have 111 IP, but it will allow me to begin construction, unlike when I had 126, when I could not even click to begin construction. Why?

Did you have enough for the road/s to the deposit? It won't let you begin construction until you have enough IP to connect it the logistical network.

So you must have enough IP to get a road connection and you must start construction inside your logistical network. Resources do not limit construction and you do not have to pay anything or be able to pay anything to start constructing other than for roads.

Build near or on a road and it's costs little to nothing. Build out in the sticks and you have a 100 IP tax to even start. Build the roads successively over several turns if that makes it easier to manage resources overall.

Yeah, that was it, the first one was quite a bit off the road

It does say "not enough IP to build road" if that is what makes a building not availible.

At least the message that tell you why a building can not be build seem to work perfectly fine.
