Re: Naval and Defense News

Regarding the submarine that was attacked, none of the post attack imagery I've seen shows damage control equipment. Unfortunately this indicates to me a lack of serious damage. Otherwise I'd expect to see dewatering pumps, vehicles, hoses, etc.

Re: Operation Liberty Dawn [Redux Redux] 1.0

The latest beta version of CMO has broken the Chinese side missions somehow. I've been doing some digging in the events and triggers but have yet been unable to solve the issue. None of the Chinese air missions launch, they show in a state of "Active" and "Waiting for trigger" simultaneously. All ...

Re: Iran Strike, 2022 (Updated July 29, 2025)

The beta 11 build available in the first post has a comma missing from line 6659 of "Scenario Lua initialization 05" causing the deployment menu action to fail.

Re: New Scenario For Testing: Any Given Sunday

Just started my first play through, and I'll just say that this type of scenario format is phenomenal. Really enjoying the planning, mission choices, and other variables. Thanks for making it.

Re: Drones carried by US F/A-18F

The Perdix drones are incredibly interesting to me.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a scenario where using them is at all practical, and I have a tough time brainstorming such a scenario where they would be within the scope of CMO.

I forgot about this thread. I'll run a comparison using the legacy 32 bit and new 64 bit next week.

Re: Operation Noble Phalanx, 2025

I'm not proficient enough to manage a scenario of this size, and therefor am unable to provide meaningful feedback.

I will say I enjoy this scenario, and I enjoy the variety of assets available. I think it is well made, and it has been providing me with several hours of entertainment. You ...

Re: Using MALD-J or SPEAR-EW best practices discussion

I'm still trying to determine the targeting feature I saw on the SPEAR-EW, looks like it will target specific frequencies from the platform you select. I haven't seen any documentation on this yet.

Using MALD-J or SPEAR-EW best practices discussion

I usually use these off-axis to pull away assets from the target away from the attack or mixed in with the attack. I always manually control these assets and do BOL-Attacks with them. I noticed recently the SPEAR-EW is able to actually target units, and it seems they attempt to jam frequencies ...

Re: New Scenarios - Breaking the Blockade: Ukraine Crisis 2022 (V1 & V2)

I like it, difficult scenario. I have only played V2 so far. I just wanted to drop a short note since it doesn't seem to have any feedback yet. I'll try to write up something with more substance sometime soon and after a few more tries.

Re: CMO Public Beta - Build 1243.3 (aka "Tiny")

Second question-

It seems to take Steam more than an hour to make the transition between the beta (1243) and 1147.45. Also, it seems that the 1243 upgrade deletes some files from 1147.45. Is there some set of files to hold on to that would facilitate a faster transition, without having to keep ...

Re: Why no more Afghanistan?

There were only ten warthogs in Afghanistan. 2000 sorties means a sortie per day.

Not enough happened in Afghanistan to justify scenarios. Also, CAS almost never happens in real life. The Korean War was the only time CAS sort of happened and it was a lot of friendly fire and bombing civilians ...

Re: Why no more Afghanistan?

I think the scenario "Under African Skies" simulates somewhat what a modern day Afghan scenario would be like. Responding to emergent calls for fire. I think that same type of AOR management is in other scenarios too, I just can't think of any off the top of my head.

Re: Thank God, my aircraft are flying OVER the SAM Belt!!!!

I think the main issue, from a realistic reaction standpoint, is what an individual unit knows about vs a player.

Would only make sense for units that have some type of indicating device inside their cockpit that shows what type of radar is hitting their plane and the bearing. Some type of ...

CMO models ideal, totally fused, weapons and sensors, but it seems that some adversaries are not at that level. I cant imagine a Tico or Burke going down like this.

What would be connected to that threat vector? What would the aircraft do?

Evade away from the threat instead of towards the threat.

I'm sure there are tons of reasons to evade a threat by going towards it and you'll make a case for that in a reasonable manner.

In my dumb peasant mind I ...

Re: Thank God, my aircraft are flying OVER the SAM Belt!!!!

Is it possible to simulate a threat vector, similar to RWR in the real world so the simulated pilot can make bearing based decisions?

Looking forward to the derisive responses from the people intimately familiar with how the game logic is written. Thanks in advance.
