Re: Operation Liberty Dawn [Redux Redux] 1.0

-All the Chinese SAMs in the scenario are set to "no auto fire".

-Not enough basing at "forward" airfields near Guam for the US airpower that is based in the US and Hawaii. (perhaps this is intended)

-Chinese Sharp Sword UAVs basically cannot be shot down by radar guided missiles; AIM-120Ds, JATMs ...

Re: Hardware for max performance in large scenarios?

In my experience, the main bottleneck in the performance is usually between the keyboard and the chair. I was able to do just fine with a 14-year-old Dell computer that only had moderate upgrades and the times I wasn't, that usually required a report to the Tech Support sub-forum. There are some ...

Loading save game doesn't bring back all units

I'm playing the Operation Epic Fury scenario, build 1825.15.

When I load the saved game, all of my land facilities are gone, along with most of my aircraft. Most of the enemy facilities and units are gone as well.

Save attached.

Re: Tides of War first impressions

I bought it to support the devs as well. Years later and they are still working on the game, kudos.

But it's honestly like no one play tested this DLC at all. I finally made it past the second mission after realizing that I had to fire warning shots on the Chinese ships even when they weren't ...

Re: Tides of War first impressions

I had exactly the same issues as the first two posters with the first mission.

For the second mission, the PLAN fires on me first, I fire back (which is in line with the scenario ROE), and the scenario concludes, regardless of whether I destroy any PLAN ships or not. I always end with a score of 0 ...

Re: Sea Power

I have run dev organizations and small companies my whole life. Its what I do. And I hold game devs to the same standard I'm held to. Deliver what you commit to. There are way too many devs that have great ideas and over extend themselves to the detriment of the customer. Sea Power is a perfect ...

Re: Northern Fury 9 - Hold the Line (design feedback)

It's not just Northern Fury. This happens on the last two Chains of War scenarios as well. Presumably the medications to refueling since the scenarios were built have somewhat broken the scenarios.

Players: This game has a learning cliff, it demands you to keep track of too much OMG!

Also players: Please add one more thing that I will need to keep an eye out for and will grind my ops to a halt if I don't pay attention.

(I know, I know, optional realism features etc. etc. But still. That ...

Wouldn't you need to input the heading data for each waypoint in addition to the distance?

Re: What CMO scenarios lack

It's commendable not wanting to overload lower spec systems, but by that logic we would all still be playing Pacman and Space Invaders. Games and systems involve. Its the way the industry works.

I do play another Matrix Game called Distant Worlds and its impressive what the designers were able ...

Cannot plot course for Land-attack missiles

Pretty straight forward. Whenever I'm trying to fire a Tomahawk-type weapon (Tomahawk, Hyunmoo 3b, etc) at a land target, the "plot course" box is greyed out.

Re: A2A Tanker Support advice

I have a sordid and poorly executed history with AAR. But this comment from above "Receivers start looking for tankers when down to X percent of mission fuel", plus tanker positioning and REALLY knowing the detail of the flight plan of the aircraft is immensely important. In the current CMO ...

[NO REPRO] Is the AIM-120D AMRAAM really that bad?

My F-16M Blk 52 fires an AIM-120D AMRAAM P3.I4 at a range of about 11nm at a non-maneuvering guided missile traveling at 530 kts roughly perpendicular to the F-16. The AMRAAM has traveled approximately 10nm and is already down to 625kts of speed.

The AIM 120D shows a range of 86nm. Why is it losing ...

Reference books for modern weapons

Can anyone suggest some reference books that cover modern weapons? I'd like to read more about, say, the Taurus missile, AMRAAM, Meteor, etc.

I understand that Jane's does this but I'm looking for something a bit more affordable than $1500 per book.

Re: Missiles with stupidly high BVR capability post patch

I can't speak to the Arrow, but the AIM-120A AMRAAM is completely broken. If you fire it at greater than 12nm away, enemy fighters just turn around and burner away. If you fire it at closer ranges, the missile climbs to 60,000 feet (even if the enemy is 3nm away and at 36k altitude) and then ...
