Re: What's the most fun starting settings?

Has anybody played with scarce resources? It might be micromanagement hell. On the other hand what is the point, if you always have enough of everything?

Re: Thoughts and suggestions after 70 hours.

Yes, the late game needs work. Less notifications, bigger armies to recrute to deal with less ground units and victory conditions, which do not require to conquer most of the galaxy are some ideas.

Re: Pieceful way to win?

Thanks. But these race specific victory conditions are only a part of the overall condition, where territory, colonies and the size of the economy matter (in the default settings at least).

Pieceful way to win?

My experience is still limited. But it seems that with the standard victory conditions you sooner or later have to attack most other empires if you want to win, including close allies. Pieceful expansion and attacking only aggressive empires (e.g. the Boskarans as the Ackdarians) does not allow me ...

Re: Micromanagement

HQ management is a must. Keep HQs in range, use good leaders and exchange them as points allow. It is also important to rest (or even refit when necessary) your units to rebuild combat power and use administrative movement as much possible. Railroad repair is also very important to have the rail as ...

Re: Do you ever use AI Air Assist?

I use it all the time when playing. I am not a hardcore player and a bit more on the arcade side and come from HOI4. It had good enough results to allow me finish my grand campaign against the AI as Germany successfully. I also use the AI depot management. Maybe without those I would have never done ...

Re: How do you play?

It would be cool to have a cooperative MP with two people being able to make moves for the same country

You can still do that, it will be just like PBEM multiplayer. One person starts the turn, then passes the intermediate save to another, then to another one, until the turn is done.

Sure, I ...

Re: How do you play?

I also play only against the AI and look for a relaxing experience. MP tends to be very competitive. Nobody including myself likes to lose against another human. But that means minmaxing the rules, which is tedious and tends to destroy the immersion into the game world. It would be cool to have a ...

How much difference does it make to micro the Air war?

I am a Wite2 player with some experience including winning the 41 campaign on normal at the latest sudden victory date. I am no grognard but no complete newbie. I know that the air is important in some respect, in particular to isolate cities such as Sevastopol or Leningrad. I have largely used the ...

I already pointed this out some time ago, but it was ignored. In 2022 this should not happen.

Re: Sudden Victory not triggered

Thanks for the info. That should be relatively easy to fix then. When the fix is done, I will run through the last turn again to finally see the victory screen.

Sudden Victory not triggered

I have way over 900 points as Axis but the sudden victory at turn 107 for 800 points in the 41 campaign is not triggered. Save game can be supplied if you tell me how. Game version is at current 1.02.27 beta, but was upgraded multiple times during the campaign. Many thanks.

Army commander should lead battles

I think the rule could be, that if multiple corps of an army are involved in a battle, the army commander takes control.
That would give us an incentive to make Manstein commander of 11th army and see him conquer Sevastopol. This could depend on the overall number of units which are part of battle ...

This is WAD. The system may be crude, but we've done things for a reason to prevent players from exploiting the TBs. You are at the point where Germany is beginning to be overrun in the west, so it's reasonable for there to be a large ...

RE: Why do my units not use supplies from captured depots

<t> The temp depot is logical. But the additional rules are confusing. We learned that in this game freight moves from depots to units and not from HQs to units. Now I just learn that it does. Should I regard every HQ as a mini depot?<br/>
I think with air supply you would like to send supply ...

RE: What game is this dude playing (a steam review)

<t> I would agree with the last point. If fuel and oil and armament points have no real impact it takes something away from the experience. I tend to look what resources, industry, man power a conquered or to be conquered town or city has. And it feels like a big accommplishment to deny these ...

RE: How players compare wite 1 and 2 ?

<t> The thing I like most about 2 is that it can be played by a slightly more casual player like me. The fact that you can mostly automate the air war and do not need to move air bases around on the map, the fact that logistics and depot creation can mostly be automated and the fact, that partisans ...

Help for Axis Player against AI

<t> I play my second grand campaign as axis. The first one failed because of the 1.1.42 victory point check.<br/>
It is now 24.8.41 in the second campaign, and although I think my play in general is better, the same might happen.<br/>
I am threatening Leningrad although probably cannot take it ...

RE: Help New Players on Steam

<t> I come over from Hoi4 to WitE2 and I definetly think the game can appeal to some of the HoI audience. If you look for a more historical experience and for more of a challenge it is just a so much better game. It is much more hard core of course but at the same time more accessable than WitE ...
