Thanks. I think that it helps to illustrate my original point. I keep atlases and Google Earth handy whenever I attempt to play any historical game.
Socotra and Somalia are on map, so how would these convoys travel off map before the Med opens?

Re: Starting an airfield from scratch

I learned a long time ago NOT to build a airfield on Dutch Harbor. Takes to long. There are plenty of nearby potential airfields nearby....GP

I like building a tiny airfield there just for redundancy, but I'm a sucker for redundancy. Agreed that there are much better locations in that area for ...

IIRC the more engineers you have when it falls the more damaged the infrastructure will be.

Re: How many planes?

In 4 months of war they lost more than 1934 aircraft.

Wait until it climbs to almost 30,000. In games that have dragged into 1944, I've seen some rather staggering Japanese aircraft losses. Japan built 2,435 G4M bombers in the war. My Allies have killed twice that many at least. I have a ...

Re: Rebase

The 5 flyable aircraft will rebase and the ones that can't fly will be left behind as a subunit. Once the other planes are repaired you can move them as well.

If a railroad connects both bases the damaged planes will use the railroad to go to the other base and will show up again in a day or two.

Thanks for the quick response. I have been really enjoying my PBEM game using your mod right now. I especially like the Chinese guerillas. They have been very successful.

Re: Updated 22/01/2022: Bottlenecks in the Pacific v1.3a

I think I found a bug. When combining the elements of the 3rd New Zealand division from the units that start on Fiji and arrive in Auckland the unit turns into an HQ and gets rid of all of combat troops turn into support.

I donated to them last year when they said they were having major problems. The Battleship New Jersey YouTube channel made a video about USS The Sullivans and they said the hardest part right now is that there are no open drydocks, and she needs to go in one.

(Closed) Looking for Japanese opponent for Bottlenecks Mod

I have a PBEM game running right now as the Allies playing Dababes Light, but I find myself wanting more. I wouldn't consider myself a complete newbie, but I still make a lot of mistakes. I should be able to do 5 turns a week minimum.

Re: AI and pilot management

Does the AI optimize their pilot management in any way? I'm playing against the Japanese AI and as I don't want to gain unfair advantages against it I'm wondering if I should just leave my pilots on auto select or actively swap them.

Also, how many pilots do you guys use for your air groups in ...

Re: How Withdrawals Work

Doesn't help that the games interface for handling withdrawal is so crappy. I have air groups marked as needing withdrawal but without the "Withdrawal" command active. When you find a ship listed for withdrawal you can't go to that ship from the withdrawal dialog screen. You have to go to the Ship ...

Use land bombers to eliminate Clark Field. You aren't going to be able to touch Manila or Clark Field before you take Bataan.

Re: Harbor Patrols

Oh, I meant to use some planes at 100', they are attack bombers. I was testing how effective they can be at eliminating known subs.

The thing is, 'exaggerated impressions taken with a grain of salt' is expected. Not actually hitting a single thing over 1-200+ reported 'hits' is quite another ...

Harbor Patrols

The game starts out with USS Ward acting as a harbor patrol for Pearl Harbor so I have been using small ships to act as harbor patrols in my busiest ports. However, even when I have seen a sub enter my port my ships don't react, so are they really necessary, or is it better to use those ships for ...
