Rebase

Post by Gratch1111 »

So If I have a squadron with 5 aircraft plus 1 under maintenance and 2 damaged, what happens if I rebase the squadron. I found in the manual that they are made into a sub unit to the first unit but I cant see it, at least not on the map. So what really happens? are those planes lost?

The 5 flyable aircraft will rebase and the ones that can't fly will be left behind as a subunit. Once the other planes are repaired you can move them as well.

If a railroad connects both bases the damaged planes will use the railroad to go to the other base and will show up again in a day or two.

Basically, the air squadron splits with those planes that can't fly being left behind in the former airbase until such time as they are repaired and can fly. You'll see a "/" followed by a number in the squadron name. When airworthy again they'll re-join their squadron automatically, or you can order them to fly there to rejoin their squadron yourself. If there is a rail link between the two bases, the unflyable planes would go by by rail which could cause them to disappear from the map for a few days. Which might explain why you are not seeing them.

Yeah. I've noticed the same thing. It's been locking up today every now and then.

If they go by rail, they will show up under your Group Reinforcements Schedule (in the Beta update--not sure about stock since I have not played it in years).
