Re: [Mod Release] German Translation v1.02

Hi

DontKnow wrote: Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:10 am Is there a possibility to get these counters as a mod? I did not find them somewhere else.
It's a private mod based on the blue max counter mod of SC WWI that I can not share publicly since I'm not the creator of the assets used.

In which folder do I have to copy this.
Thank you
It's explained in the readme and the post above.
Everything goes to your installation folder that you chose during installation (if you use the matrix game version).
It's the folder where the SC3-Civil War.exe is located.

Re: Please allow us to dissolve Forts

All other considerations aside, I love that the Confederate trooper in that picture is wearing a Pickelhaube helmet.

I think those are the Italian units. Not sure it's a Pickelhaube. I'm using the French Tier 1 troops for the Union and they actually look pretty good, but grey ...

Please allow us to dissolve Forts

Sorry I have to bring this topic up again, but the changes in the last patch to fix the blockade problem make no sense.

This is a totally legitimate defense encouraged by the game by now having field fortifications everywhere along costal cities:

but this is not allowed by the game:

[Mod Release] German Translation v1.02

This is a German translation of Strategic Command: American Civil War including all scenarios (Game version 1.02).

Everything rules sensitive was translated by hand (units, technologies etc.) or it is using the default German translation that came with the game.
Due to the amount of work, all ...

Re: Marines land, attack and move in the same turn?

Imo, a totally unnecessary change, we have debated this exact problem in this thread .

It's seems to be there to encourage more landings, even though it completely trivializes enforcing the blockade (by capturing all harbor cities) and preventing Europe from entering the war.
Best part of it all is ...

Re: Leaders should have chance to die/wounded easier

Yes, I think that's a great idea.
Right now it's far to unattractive to ever attack HQs as they have quite strong defenses.

Re: Balance in the 1861 Scenario

But you can do things :P In many places, one brigade placed on the coast make taking the city with fort more difficult. If you can put that division and other brigade adjacent to the fort on the right hexes, I think it takes great effort to conquer the city. So not like there is nothing you can do ...

Is it possible to add a new language via a mod?

I translated the game to German (partially by hand, partially via an AI translator and correcting afterwards) and right now the game is completely translated and playable in German.
However I'm overwriting the Spanish translation. Is it possible to add a new language via a mod?
Meaning I'm looking ...

Re: Balance in the 1861 Scenario

Forts can be reinforced already by sending additional units to potential enemy landing sites, and while this does pull units from the frontline that may be sorely needed there, that too is deliberate and a reflection of the historical reality. A lot of the coastal locations easily taken by the ...

Re: Balance in the 1861 Scenario

Perhaps an easy to implement solution that would go a long way is:
- Removing the forts of New Orleans, Mobile, Wilmington

Once you get the "protect your cost" popup window in 61 you get three event brigades in New Orleans, Mobile, Wilmington which would already go a long way to protect the easy ...

Re: Balance in the 1861 Scenario

Richmond & DC need to have more forts where units can entrench around them. They are both wide open and right next to one another. It should be very difficult to take both cities early on, this alone could ruin competitive PBEM play.

You have to build fortifications yourself using engineers, I ...

Re: Balance in the 1861 Scenario

I kind of agree. But still, sadly, blockade can be enforced by ships anyway, no need for marines everywhere. So does it change that much in eco situation?

Well that's the whole point. Why block a route for raiding 40% of it when you can just conquer the harbor, get 100 % of the route and have ...

Re: Balance in the 1861 Scenario

A pure land combat favors the confederacy in the beginning due to having much better generals and being in a defensive position and with just brigades and some early divisions neither side can make meaningful gains.

However in my opinion the main problem right now is, that it is incredibly easy for ...

Re: new orleans

I had plenty of successful navel invasion by the union AI along the coast.
I don't see why they can't do it with New Orleans? (They never did it in my games, but in principle the AI can do it. Maybe they won't do it for other reasons).
Though going with the damn breach is completely unnecessary ...

I like the new system, it requires you to play the game differently from WWII and that's a welcome change.
Every offensive army needs a scouting cavalry now and general positioning is much more important now.

Re: The Europe mechanic doesn't work right now

G'day Alter Native,

I see where you're coming from, but unfortunately the historical realities surrounding the European intervention question don't line up with having them come in when the Union is doing well.

Thanks for the reply,
I understand that it is not attractive for a European ...
