Re: Some basic questions about the game.

1. you want to be building as many units as you have manpower/trucks for, you can see this in your pools. Tank and mech Corps use a fair chunk of trucks so you especially don't want to overbuild them as it will hamper your logistics. 2.units on refit get priority during an addition refit replacement...

Early Guards rifle corp

it seems as though the builds limit for Rifle Corp goes up as soon as it turns 42 but they are not in the build menu and cant be built with on map units normally however, the special rule for build guards rifle corp in first winter with a limit of 2 is still in effect so you can make as many rifle c...

Re: Interesting discussion: Is attacking better than defending?

in my experience this is true for soviet especially mid to late war when you start getting the brigade and division artillery formations and Il-2s massed in force, since disrupted elements seem to have a chance to be captured when a unit retreats/routs. this is an extreme example but you get the poi...

RE: Should Food be in the Campaign?

I imagine the soviet drop in morale in September is to reflect food shortages and other factors like officer quality and radios, if you want soviets to suffer even more supply issues that's a separate issue I think.

RE: Beta Patch VVS performance

<r> Heres the same battle run on the current official patch, couldn't get the exact same conditions because of reserve activation and the number of planes joining but as you can see even with less planes the difference in performance is still huge on the official patch even totally unintercepted the...

Beta Patch VVS performance

<r> The .19 betapatch seems to of vastly improved the vvs<br/> <br/> The listed changes are "Defensive ground support often totally misses the target. Fixed." however on the offensive the vvs seems to of also received a significant boost to performance, I first spotted this looking at a battle in th...

soviet brigade morale

<r> I'm playing a singleplayer game and I'm currently at turn 52 in 1.02.13 and I've noticed some that soviet brigades of all types seem to have +5 morale, at first I thought it was just the +5 mot morale but the manual says that doesn't start till September 42 and normal rifle brigades and artiller...

RE: Soviet Guards

I sometimes think there should maybe be a variable guards requirement option you can tick since the ai does loads of failed hasties and players often dont but soviet doesnt really need the buff at the moment so maybe just a higher requirement you could tick for playing ai games

RE: Soviet Guards

<r> In the first game I recall it was 8 wins with a formula going up as the years go on. In a game I have going right now I have a guards div with 7 wins but nothing lower so if you just get another win on your 6-4 you should get it, just move it round to join in on a sure thing attack, if you can s...

RE: Over Toe units?

<r> some of the tank divs that start near Smolensk have something like 200% of bt-7s or t26s so if you just refit them on t1 they fill up alot and have like 250-300 avfs each, also I hit you with 4 divs 3 tank divs and 1 mech div into your tank div, also soviet arty early war has loads of extra supp...

RE: Urban terrain combat balance

<r> Heres a battle to show that it works both ways and soviets can lose on less than 2:1 too, for the record Smolensk was not cut off so the rout is due to the units basically having no working elements at the end of the fighting I assume, dont get me wrong I'd still consider this result a win for s...

RE: The Soviet Union has no playability now

<t> I've done some battles in the new patch and artillery disruption now seems much lower and also seems to be impacted by terrain, so all of my complains are basically addressed soviet units now seem to get the chance to fire back a bit and with lower disruptions and terrain seems to matter more. i...

Ok thank you for clarifying. could you give an idea of how significant the the change to disruption is or is it more complicated than a change in a single value and hard to tell?

map equipment priority

<t> It would be nice if there was a way to ensure on map units receive new equipment like t34s before theater boxes, early game for soviet all the transcaus and far east tank divisions fill up with t34s and kvs before onmap units, similar things happen to German afvs. I understand this does create a...

RE: Excessive artillery HPE

<t> idk what to say soviets just stand very close together and are all very afraid of explosions since most of the excessive HPE is mainly weighted in disruptions and not damaged or destroyed, Joel has said in another thread that indirect fire disruption will be toned down in the next steam patch so...

RE: Excessive artillery HPE

Its already been discussed, they added an indirect fire bombardment phase into combat that has no FPE display but still displays HPE, they also may of raised the disruptive power of artillery in the patch but I'm not sure it might just be the bombardment phase thats making the difference

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: loki100<br/> <br/> I'm sorry but you are now not being very realistic in your claims.<br/> <br/> The attack has something like 33% of the German artillery SUs, so feasibly the Germans could have 3 of them in a turn. RE: Unraveling Disruptions

<t> Urban protects somewhat from artillery, do something similar on heavy forest, swamps or god forbid clear. also soviets actually do normally shoot back a tiny bit if they have ammo since mortars get to fire during the bombardment phase so before artillery can disrupt everything(it doesn't actuall...
