Re: Chinese surrender

I appreciate you trying to support your text. Thanks. Ports of size 10 do have special properties as I recall, including ship withdrawal, but I simple don't recall anything that corresponds to your input. Alfred could help here but alas he remains silent!

I found the source. Apparently it only ...

Re: Chinese surrender

What is your source for this information?

I recall reading it somewhere on the forums, but that was four years ago and I cannot find it anymore. I can provide you with this after running a few turns on an old save, along with the advice that Amoy and Foochow could benefit from a slight excess ...

Re: Chinese surrender

I don't think they do surrender. The Japanese player must capture all of the Chinese bases to control China.

If you capture the Chinese main base and the alternate base (I can't recall the names right now), I think Chinese reinforcements start appearing in India.

Someone feel free to correct ...

Re: How to avoid losing DMS to Bataan coastal guns

Use land bombers to eliminate Clark Field. You aren't going to be able to touch Manila or Clark Field before you take Bataan.

Clark Field isn't an issue. The enemy has pulled all their aircraft back to bataan. The issue is that I am playing on HARD AI and they get magical deliveries of ...

If you have PDU on, I believe any bomber group can switch to Ki-45s so long as you change them to single engine bombers first.

RE: Best Jap hvy fighers?

<t> Ki-45a comes online mid 1942, with PDU on you can get those single engine bombers (in fact all bomber groups) of size 27-36 to upgrade to them for a big PP cost. Some people enjoy the Ki-45c as well for its range and the 20mm, though it's up to you to decide how much you value the two 12.7mms on ...

RE: Best way of directly surface attacking a fleet?

<t> Patrol order where you expect them to be using only one movement phase with maximum engagement distance. If you really want it dead you could set the TF to max speed so the first phase can move the full 8 hexes (surface combat TFs are usually 8/4) and that way you could overshoot where the enemy ...

RE: Training Flight Parameters (Hex, alt?)

<t> I prefer to use the limited numbers of Betty groups as a sort of second search layer beneath the H8K groups. The massive size of the squads and their impressive range make them useful in a search role, while being a bit of overkill in ASW. E13s on ASW should cover enough ground given adequate ...

It's more of an in house rule thing. Aside from static units, many Manchurian/Chinese units are considered restricted, denoted with [R] after the name of the army they are attached to. You can freely move them between land borders but cannot move ...

RE: General Advice for Rookies (my questions)

<t> American dive bombers can take a 500lb bomb to their max range I believe, which will be more than capable of devastating cruisers and carriers. Altitude for naval bombing should be between 10k to 15k feet as this is the band in which they will dive. For ground and port attacks I prefer 9k feet ...

RE: Is this a bug or WAD, follow TF order cause both two TFs remains on station

<t> I've also encountered this bug twice, though unfortunately I did not keep a save file around. The first time was a naval resupply of India with two troop transport task forces, an air transport group and three carrier task forces. There were no oilers involved but the group would stall north of ...
