Re: 1941-45 reworked OOB

I'm playing a solitaire German Hard scenario. I edited the scenario myself to add 20 SOV AP per turn after discovering it only allowed 1 AP per turn.

Re: 1941-45 reworked OOB

The 1 AP per turn for the SOVs persists into turn 4 though.

Re: 1941-45 reworked OOB

Small potential bug - Soviets only gain 1 AP per turn, it appears. Unless that's by design for the early turns?

Re: What can I do about these bad Luftw. Field Divisions?

7k seems a little low, I feel like that size is reflective of the infantry component of the early generations of the LWF divisions which had a collection of around four infantry battalions with no regimental headquarters. Platoon composition was identical to the Heer at this point, but there were no ...

Anyone here play solitaire (both sides Human-controlled)?

I've been playing both sides of the grand campaign (solitaire style) quite a bit lately and am finding it a lot of fun. Needless to say, I can't deceive the other side as to what they plan to do but it's been very diverting and instructive to see exactly what issues the other side labors under ...

Just attempted a new download and it worked fine this time. Apologies Teo, the other day it just would not let me download it.

Getting a Wacatac trojan virus warning on your latest ZIP file, Teo. Windows Defender is kiboshing my download.

Re: 1941-45 reworked OOB

Hey, I think some of these ahistorical event chains are a little bugged. For me, sending the RAD unit to France triggers BOTH the "Building the Atlantic Wall" and "Who Needs the Atlantic Wall" events and so on. Operation Biting is a disaster, but the RAF 1942 Raid events keep happening anyway, it ...

I'm in the midst of a new game and will examine to see if 52. Inf-Div. suffers from the same issues. If so I'll upload a save game proper.

Re: 1941-45 reworked OOB

Hey, I encountered a few small bugs on my playthrough of your original 3.0, not sure if they were fixed in this latest update.

3rd Guards Cavalry Corps is not a combat unit, and can have units attached like in a typical Corps HQ. The intention though seems to clearly be that it should be a combat ...

Re: Editing TOE names - Divisions now cannot be broken down

I haven't tried that but it seems like it'd be a hassle. The renaming has broken other features too: the Rumanian FBD no longer repairs rail. I'm gonna abandon this attempt and deal with the weird names and the inability to tell which engineer divisions are motorized at a glance. :(

Maybe someday ...

Editing TOE names - Divisions now cannot be broken down

I edited a ton of the TOE/OB files in the editor for Teo_ITA's 2.6 Campaign to represent the linguistic naming conventions of the various countries. However, I'm having a problem where the Rumanian divisions can no longer be broken down into regiments. Those which are already broken down at scenario ...

Re: Italian Divisional Troop Numbers

May I ask the source, because right now the alpini divisions are 9000 or 10000 personnel already.
I somehow am extremely, EXTREMELY skeptical there are 6500+ personnel just to handle packmules, not counting what in the 10000 currently present are already support squads.

Several very good ...

Re: Good game but...

I want to be clear: I am not trying to imply that people who have issues with the balance OR historical accuracy automatically harbor neo-Nazi or Stalinist fantasies. I was only trying to say that such players do exist, and that this (plus the primary need for the human costs of war in general to be ...

Re: Good game but...

The players have problems with how they interpret the short results of their games, their representations are, in the vast majority of cases, completely incompetent.
For all that, players have time to notice problems arising from inaccuracies or mechanics with which they do not agree, often not ...

Re: Good game but...

This discussion is fascinating, in how it parallels the sorts of discussions on similarly-scoped games with directly opposing philosophies - I speak here of every serious wargamer's favorite casual time sink, Hearts of Iron IV. When their "No Step Back" DLC (focused around the Soviet Union and the ...

Re: A Moderator asks you to stop and think...

I’m a lurker here generally, but I found Loki’s posts to be most helpful. He could be a bit terse but evidently the trigger for that was the users who go out of their way to whine incessantly about the game systems producing results that don’t fit their preconception of Germany as invincible ...

Re: German 1st Wave OOB - Rifle Squads

Now, that being said, 1st Welle Divisions also had “Feldersatz-Bataillons” that I think were organized identically to the rifle companies. I can’t recall whether they are represented by some other type of squad, or abstracted as “support” since the Feldersatz-Bataillon was not really a front-line ...
