Big thumbs up for the moral mod :)

Really making me consider firing the game up again.

Re: A cry for help (Noob player's struggles)

I've been using my rail repair units, though it's probably suboptimal the way I've been using them. A lot of the ones you see on the screenshots are the ones the HQs automatically send out and not the 4 I can control. Supply overall is adequate, I only have a few understrength divisions.

Tip ...

Re: A cry for help (Noob player's struggles)

Are you managing your supply and rail repair? Hum I can see your rail repair in the pictures they should be just behind the lines repairing double lines mostly.

Are you resting your units so they recover supply, fatigue and combat preparation points?

Are you exchanging out the worst axis ...

Re: What to do as Axis in 43 - withdraw to a short line (gamey)?

Some of the most interesting offensive can be done summer 43 but I'd guess it depends on the size of the soviet army.

Keeping as much ground as possible and retreating as slowly as possibly is certainly the thing to do against the AI only giving up ground that can't be defended. Space is time and ...

Re: Game Ruined because of Winter

Will certainly try to set it up in that way next game.

By the way is really the winter rules working as intended if optimal play is moving every german panzer to the west?

I thought it was reasonably stupid when moving significant panzer forces to the west was a good choice but this makes it ...

Re: Game Ruined because of Winter

I disagree with this. Yes I takes some time to get AFVs on map but it’s very achievable with planning. You don’t actually need to send any of the infantry back to the TB as new formations are raised. You can transfer 3-4 panzers across the rails each turn so If you start late feb/early March, that ...

As a you can see from the number of post I'm not a big poster. However, thought I'd share my experience with the Blizzard of 41. In my first campaign I was stunned by this and can sympathize with the OP. Manny objects were broken that day and I rage quit. So, in my second campaign I was extremely ...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

For the North Africa
You will loose most of the ground forces, most will be rebuilt in reserve.

Air will fair better.

I'd certainly not have anything in North Africa that I don't want to loose. Manning it up with Italian forces while pulling out german ones are a good trick.

Re: For new player, is WITE2 harder to learn than the original WITE

WiTE2 is the better game it is also more complex and less newbie friendly I'd say.

AI works but probably need 110-120+ depending on how much of a fight you want and how much you want to exploit the AI poorer decision making.

Air and Depots are the big changes I'd say. Air is fiddly and is ...

Re: Game Ruined because of Winter

I'm not a fan of the winter rules as currently set up but it is fairly easy at least against the AI to have offensive momentum last well into january-februari after which both sides are generally so completely worn out there is a paus in fighting for a while which comes pretty naturally before a ...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Production screen example:
#- M3/M5 ar:need
This means the element (M3/M5) is no longer in production, but will be produced "as needed"?

Since some items start the game already out of production, why do some of them also start with ar:need for production rates?

Is it about repairing items ...

Re: Micromanagement

Wite2 doesn't look like a 1v1 game, it looks more like a 2v2 or 4v4 game.

It then takes less time and you can dive deeper into a particular aspect.

But the comment about what is important for Germany is only Odessa and Sevastopol in the air war, so I invite you to play 4 on 4 as the commander of ...

Re: AIR WAR DIRECTIVES

During winter the Luftwaffe should be sent to the Reserves TB. They will have nothing to do in the bad weather. They also will get damaged even if they just sit (as do tanks) and they will attract precious supplies.

I'm not sure that is a good idea actually, since I believe that erases pilot ...

So a follow up on the hungry supply ponies.

How does it work for a unit on the depot? Will a ravenous horde of hungry equines eat all their supplies?

It does indeed work like that. Hence ideally your depots for winter are placed at 4 hexes away from the frontline.

Okay...I guess it might not be the craziest thing in this game but it is certainly up there (I think the depiction of Italians might be the craziest :D). Check don't be within 3 ...

but it really felt wrong when the entire southern front was at <1 CV standing about 3 hex from depots, then going to in some cases 20CV as soon as march comes around. It also only applied to the south

Standing inside the 3-hex range during first winter may actually be a trap option. Because ...

Basically anything below 100% may trigger bad events. You can usually go below 100% for a while without a problem but I have gotten -1 vp for being 99% for a single turn :D You benefit from having units of all types that that TB wants you can see it by clicking on the arrow at the % display, this ...

Re: For the Infallible Koba GAME #2 (Soviet team game GC)

If I where playing soviets I'd be pretty happy with that opening, the central and south are areas are doomed but they always are, sure the south might be a bit more doomed than normal but the north looks good. I'd say nearly a full turn has been lost on moving north and towards Smolensk.
