Re: What happens with captured elements?

As far as WiTE2, I am not sure what happens with captured equipment anymore. In the latest GC41 game, beginning in 1942 (T29) I am seeing the introduction of various equipment in the production view with the (r) suffix. T-34B 747(r) ar:2 - 2 2 0 82mm GrW 274(r) Mortar ar:15 - 15 15 0 76.2mm FK36(r) ...

(Ger) 76mm IG 290r Infantry Gun

I think you meant for the "76mm IG 290r Infantry Gun"

to actually be

"76mm IG 290(r) Infantry Gun"

like the other captured Soviet equipment.

Re: What happens with captured elements?

The fact of the matter, despite the hype, is that the 1941 T-34 was not that good of a tank. (they did get much better later on.... ) Mr. Askey touches on it here: https://www.operationbarbarossa.net/the-t-34-in-wwii-the-legend-vs-the-performance/ It is fair to say they suffered an operational loss ...

Re: Production Charts

The problem was that the starting Oil / Fuel stockpiles were so high for Germany that the loss of Romania would not be felt until '44 or '45. Additionally, production multipliers change and additional synthetic fuel plants come online. But I have not looked at that in a long time to see if it is sti...

Re: Turn 1 German Air Losses

What is also interesting is that I recently read that the Luftwaffe did not even fly escort missions the 1st day, relying entirely on suprise they did not feel escorts would be needed.

Try doing that in WiTE2. :D

Very nice improvement over the "text" based counters.

Re: No new French Army in Algiers received - even by Nov 1940

So you can only get the Army in Algiers if Germany has been present with (and rejected) the option to form Vichy? The way it's wording in the manual doesn't make this very clear. I agree. I could only make sense of what was was going on from reading the manual.... reading the scripts.... re-reading...

Re: No new French Army in Algiers received - even by Nov 1940

At first glance, I can see where someone could miss it. In fact, I had to read the manual again after reviewing the script implementations. Only then did I catch the subsquent paragraph fully - However, if the Axis player decides not to form Vichy France then the French will continue the fight from ...

That is really easy to overlook for someone new to the system.

You will get used to looking for the red squares pretty soon.

Re: Yugoslavia

The way Yugoslavia is handled in SOE is very rudimentary - pretty much just relying on the arbitrary randomized dates of 1941/03/03, 1941/04/04, 1941/04/26 to kick off the Coup - regardless of much of the political landscape at hand. I have been critical of the current implementation, which I am hop...

Re: No new French Army in Algiers received - even by Nov 1940

I am not certain this is currently implemented the way you have interpreted. From what I can tell, it really is dependent on Germany being presented with the "Vichy France" choice as a prerequisite. The event(s) I can find that grants a French Army Unit at Algiers is the following below......

SOE: New Haven CT Port Location ???

Guys, This doesn't look right for New Haven, Connecticut SOE_NewHaven.jpg 1. 1st of all, you have NYC as 2 hexes. (which may be OK, as it is really BIG - but I would have expected the hexes to be uniquely named. i.e. East New York, West New York - or - New York, Brooklyn (or some other appropriate b...

Re: Clarification regarding British units when France surrenders?

I have seen AI UK air units in Tunisia surrender after the Fall of France.

Not sure if they get to buy-back at a reduced rate or not.

The other UK units in Northern France, I have seen them survive long enough to be evacuated.

SOE USSR Guard scripts using wrong coords for Stalino

Assuming the comments regarding Stalino are correct and that is the intended ACTIVATE_POSITION location... Stalino( 221,86 ) is not located at 219,85 . FYI - the coords for the other cities appear to be correct. { #NAME= USSR Guard - Stalingrad Defensive Line (Rostov) #POPUP= #FLAG= 1 #TYPE= 1 #COUN...

Re: Weird Supply System

I have considered artificially inflating Norway / Finland city values, up-front, to compensate. But the problem is, if I do that and a rail link is established later on via Leningrad, then those same cities are now OP and overproducing. The ideal solution is to only require them to have a rail...

Weird Supply System

I know that this is not new, but some may not be aware... It is one of the things I really dislike and wish there was a way to address or customize via a scenario / editor setting. 1. Minor allied countries supply centers do not function properly unless they have a rail link to a Major country's cap...

Re: SOE: DE 611 - Germany: Resolve Territorial Disputes In Eastern Europe?

FYI - I have been pursing a mod to completely rework many of the following: * The geopolitical impact of the Fall of France (and Belgium); * Diplomatic relations of Yugoslavia; * Cause and consequence of USSR's demand for Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina; (FYI - demand for Northern Bokovina was in v...

SOE: DE 611 - Germany: Resolve Territorial Disputes In Eastern Europe?

Guys, I am afraid you have mischaracterized the territorial dispute of Hungary (vs Romania). Hungary had demanded all of Transylvania, while actually only getting approximately 50% of it. 27,000 sq mi vs 16,792 sq mi. They reduced the Hungarian demands to 43,492 km2 (16,792 sq mi), with a population...
