The tier 0-1-2 Electromagnetic Defences research project in the ion weapons bit of the research tree used to make almost all of the nebula bugs/problems go away. Acquire it before you enter nebula.

If construction ships are broken I do wonder if this means fighter type ships in nebula's are back to ...

I just checked my max universe size game and have 7000 freighters, 1000 of those are being constructed (90% being constructed or retrofitted are at homeworld and its station which is a different problem), and have a grand total of 36 freighters doing nothing out of 6k. Have checked a few times in last two game years and the shakturi ship is queued for repair in the exploration tab but has not had a construction ship assigned to repair it.

Three more game months pass...

I have just had the "A Tear in Space" message and the shakturi ship still cannot be repaired ...

I had a look at your save and your transports definitely sit there doing nothing but if you use the editor and add an Utrantu collective transport then change it to your empire then add it to your fleet that ship will correctly move and capture if you give the capture base command again.

Have seen this too but I see it more early on in games.

Weak drones just dont survive in nebulas and I notice it more with planets and starbases in nebulas constantly repairing drones in their queue and not really building any structures or ships because of this.

The resources transport also works fine. There is already a ship on the way to fulfill the order you only think isn't being handled.


I think we are talking about different things here.

Your empire can be using 99%+ of freighters, say 8 not doing anything out of 2000, then all of a sudden you ...

One of the setup variables is breaking 'player start in centre' coding.

Did ten test starts on random map types and am close to the edge of map on all ten.

I normally have 20 opponents in biggest 2000 system maps with other empires having the biggest starting empire size and have extreme in ...

Have seen this bug too.

You also get a very similar bug later in the game with the advisor message offering to build a new station, you click yes (or click go to the location then click yes) only to find the resources were spent on civilian ships and you can no longer afford the resources to build ...

I dont think I have ever had a centre start in any galaxy type despite always picking centre.

The game needs to place the player first then the cpu empires.

This sounds very similar to the old "SPAM-bassador" exploit that was never fully fixed and this used to let you get several hundred ambassadors to stack at Wanderers Skybase to exploit spying on Airless Wanderers. Two hundred ambassadors would give you around +5000% espionage so it was a great ...

Use the editor to spawn a new ship at your homeworld.

For the stuck ship use the editor to give it to one of the non-pirate non-empire factions, like infected or automated defences, then blow it up at some point in the future for annoying you.

Simple answer, something is broken. It is either the freighters or it is the missing message telling you what they are trying but failing to do.

You dont get tech from disassembling ships (or repairing them) in the way you think. It is not an all or nothing result but small amounts seem to be added to the lowest tiers of assorted tech you have ...

Are you really sure that you want different strategies than the rookie variants you are all using? Once you see these you cant unsee them and they will break the game for you.


I think we're referring to strategies, rather than exploits (eg multiple mining components per station).
