Re: Searching the manual with AI! Give it a try...

An obvious reflection is that the AI can only be as precise and informative as the manual itself; where the source is vague, ambiguous, or lacking detail, AI won't help. Still, excited to hear people's results with this. In general I think manuals are a good way to teach Monopoly and Risk, but I am ...

Re: Searching the manual with AI! Give it a try...

This is a very interesting idea, thanks. I think the manual needs a lot of help and this is an incredible and accessible way to immediately improve it. Great idea.

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Hey, I've been wondering for a while why things have gotten so quiet around here: no new mods, maps, campaigns, etc. It surprises me especially because the community was noticeably (!) more active with GG: WitE1. Does anyone know why that is? I find it quite unfortunate because I consider WitE2 to ...

Re: Axis Turn 3 dilemma

Not qualified to give advice, but I think screenshots will help you get better feedback. In the abstract, I would suspect pushing your advantage while you still can is the play. Dante's ninth circle is for treason/betrayal (which is why Judas and Brutus are there), which I think is not what you mean ...

Re: Anyone here play solitaire (both sides Human-controlled)?

I've tried it but I kept on cheating

Wait, how do you mean by "cheating"? Do you turn off FOW? Do you change the morale difficulty level?

I read this as a joke - i.e. refusing to play with X because X is a cheater is funny where X = myself. It is slightly less funny expressed algebraically ...

Okay, that's helpful, thanks. Seems like production or oil focused strategies are the wrong idea. Fair enough.

Re: Need More Trucks Badly Does Captured Russian Industry Help

I'm also very curious in OP's question: "does captured Russian industry help"? I'll definitely use the tips given above, but I'm still left wondering "does captured Russian industry help"?

My impression reading older posts discussing this, and Jango32 above, is that it doesn't. From what I've read ...

Re: Why is "The Road to Minsk" so short?

Coming from WitE1, I also expected three turns. But I like the change. The scoring/victory points are tuned to two Axis turns, not three. It would be too easy to get a 5:1 ratio with an extra turn: Mogilev is reachable on T2 if you stretch, but there would be no point to stretching if you had three ...

Love the game already but will happily grab some free new features. Many thanks.

Re: Book Recommendations

Consider Kotkin's "Stalin" biography. Volume 3 will cover the war, though it's not out yet. Volumes 1 & 2 are an excellent tour of the Soviet regime.

Re: Playing Axis vs AI Soviet on "Normal"

For quick feedback on what the game should look like Turn 1, and what mechanics to focus on to achieve these results, I found Road to Minsk scenario is perfect. Takes 45 mins or so to play and is a great introduction. Play that scenario four to five times and you'll learn tons. I actually wish there ...
