I'M GLAD you asked this. I am usually pretty overwhelmed by t3-t4 in the South and Center. I do not know how everyone brings up their infantry so quickly in AARs when closing all those pockets. AGN is prob the easiest for me as i have a very clear idea of how to surround Leningrad. But the gap between AGC and AGS in the Pripyat marshes i always mess up. I either put to many or to little units there and far so far behind the historic progress.
My current game I am at 1.8 million Soviets disabled at t7 and i am reorganizing my army for another large push, but it just takes WEEKS! ugh.
Haha, thank you! I like to hear experience of other players.
LoL when playing this game you could actually FEEL how is it to be Halder, Rommel, Guderian, Hoth, Manstein and whatever....
I try to visualize the front - I try to cover it more or less evenly but of course I dont send Panzers to the Pripyat marshes - but as a guidamce I think that more or less is good to have at least INF corp operating on important road/axes, of course sometimes even much more but 1 division to cover less important roads is also essential even for more speedy clearing of Pripyat - I could be wrong - but once front widens it is hard to cover all important axes of advance adequatly...
Some value Velikie Luky much more than Gomel or some Dnepr crossing it is a matter of style as well.
Divisions can get tangled a bit as sometimes you must support North or South Axis of advance but you stall Centre - I am talking about more local set piece battles ;- it is important I think that after the battle you spread our units again. Commitment of reserves also is like little study but game is not so slow by nature so players dont think too much - where to send the unit - because obviously there is never enough reserve available while front is moving too fast forward.
I think that you are doing fine.
I am ar turn 3 but it is middle of turn, so I must finish at least majority of pocket south of Lavov - I hope that I will end around 1 million Soviet disabled by turn end - more or less. With that result I am satisfied but Turn 4 - again I must make some good encirclement - thats why this dilemma - infantry will be in position for big battle for Dnieper, Velikie Luky, Dnepr, and around Pskov but low on CPP and if I attack with panzers and moto they will be also in a worse state but Soviets will raise Fort level and bring reserves ... Hmmm... I will see but will leave few Saves just in case to try other variant - resting of panzers one turn only.
ps. what is maybe important for turn 3 is not to plan to shattter almost all front at the same time but to keep AI off balance to encircle just few sections of the front - now that is maybe a problem because then maybe AI will pull back some sectors and you will end up with smaller pockets on Turn 4. Hmmm.
Good luck with your game!
