Re: One article about Von Manstein

Heh, yes but I see maps.

I think that I will have to send James Bond to Washington DC they have in text all action on Eastern Front documented on Microfilms.
Its good that Americans captured it from Germans ;)

There is ocean of obscure engagements some of them are quite bizarre that because of ...

Re: What happens on Turn 29

In games against the AI, you can change the game option to continue as long as you do it before the game ends. Look at the game option screen/difficulty tab to find the Campaign End Conditions and set it to Extended Play. This will let you play on if you want to.

Thank you very much Joel, I ...

Re: One article about Von Manstein

Are you thinking about a redo of the TOAW III version? https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=3390476#p3390476 ?

Thank you for your suggestion - it is good one but it didn't exactly crossed my mind - but hey if anyone wants to try it :) why not.

What I had in mind - and what ...

Re: What happens on Turn 29

Roger that.

Well, maybe they could patch the game somehow so if German player wants to "clean" the map he could do it. I know that there is VP system there but Soviets would not surrender even if chased to Urals because they knew it that then Germans would be superextented and had to guard all this ...

What happens on Turn 29

As it seems (only normal diff I am not sado masochist :) Russian bear is almost kapput!

I am on turn 23..... Leningrad is about to fall to mighty Third Reich hehe.... Moscow is encircled since some time in September of 1941.

At one point Russians had measly 1.5 mil on map.

Now they got to almost ...

Someone maybe like me just assign them to divisions and regiments and don't worry about them.

Yea I know about attrition and million other things but I don't min max it.

Tanks? I don't send them to reseve blasphemy. Bombers yes but tanks? that is too cheesy for this ai

Re: About the possibility of open Source code

With also that being said here is my thoughts:

- Improvement of Design of New ProtoStarship TOAW I would rather skip now - but TOAW as a franchise could decelop into two ways:

One is NATO Professional version with new AI.

The second is commercial version.

And I would make a Tournament and ...

Re: About the possibility of open Source code

3D view should be brought to the hi res - like 2D.

It is STUPID to remove it - because not all players will like only 2D. Yeah I know how wargames purist think but that's not how it should be.

So, 3D view will STAY.

I can offer also my view on TOAW development if anyone is interested to hear ...

Re: About the possibility of open Source code

I would not hurry with conclusions… All viable solutions.

Of course, this is just computer science. I have no personal problems with any solution.

The based code is from 1998. This is great it was ported to Windows. But, as you said, this is another layer:

I am afraid, other ways you just ...

Re: About the possibility of open Source code

Nice to see something going on.

A little trivia from my old interview with Paul Reiche III,Jon Freeman and Anne Westwall - creators of legendary Archon for Commodore 64. Anybody played it?:)

Back in those days (1982) when pixels were size of your thumb it took only 5 months to make Archon.

And ...

Well, I am on turn 59 not 70. I am playing very slowly in fact :)
The attack of Soviets out of Kerch was finally beaten - thanks mainly to the artyllery which makes wonders.
Some attacks locally nothing serious, few more turns till end of SWO. But, I will not attack until I repair rail to the front ...

Does anyone play this game and use the 3D views?

Just curious.

I am playing in 3D view and I am damn proud of it 😁

It helps with immersilon and it should be updated.

I am playing TOAW since TOAW vol 1 lol dinosaurs were still roaming Planet Earth and pixels were the size of a thumb (Archon ...
