What happens on Turn 29

Post by MonkeyBrain3 »

As it seems (only normal diff I am not sado masochist :) Russian bear is almost kapput!

I am on turn 23..... Leningrad is about to fall to mighty Third Reich hehe.... Moscow is encircled since some time in September of 1941.

At one point Russians had measly 1.5 mil on map.

Now they got to almost 2 mil but they canot do much.

Ok they have 700k in reserve and they will get 500k on turn 24 but I. think that I have won.

Now I have Orel, Tula, blah blah Kharkov, Stalino, Rostov, Sevastopol and dug in on Taman - up till Novorosiysk.

Now, I think that I will pass 750 VP by turn 29.

What happens then? Victory screen and Thank You for playing, game over

Or player can choose to continue?

This past suggestion from a similar thread might be worth a try.

(a) rename your save game to xxx.scn and move it to the scenario folder.

(b) open the xxx.scn with the editor. Change the scenario name (MUST do this to avoid overwriting the original 1941 campaign). Save.

(c) on map, press v - you can change the victory conditions as you want. Save.

(d) start the game with the revised scenario.

Downside is that historical statistics kept by the game will be gone.

There is this new Option regarding the Endings of Campaigns, no idea if you can change that while the Campaign is running, worth trying before messing around with the suggested Method.

Roger that.

Well, maybe they could patch the game somehow so if German player wants to "clean" the map he could do it. I know that there is VP system there but Soviets would not surrender even if chased to Urals because they knew it that then Germans would be superextented and had to guard all this territory.

Stalin would flee to Asia or Vladivostok - exactly like Chinese Emperor did during so called Opium Wars.

In games against the AI, you can change the game option to continue as long as you do it before the game ends. Look at the game option screen/difficulty tab to find the Campaign End Conditions and set it to Extended Play. This will let you play on if you want to.

Thank you very much Joel, I appreciate your answer.

I just wanted to say that you created a game Bigger Than Life :)

Well, it is masterpiece of Wargaming Design.
With all little things how units behave differently based on Supply, Morale, Terrain, Commanders, CV, Weather etc etc.

The best thing now could be War in the West 1936-1943

And later Modul to Connect it with WiTE 3 ;)

In Five Years we could have War in Europe 1936-1943
all with sinking of British Carriers in Mediteran by lone Italian Torpedo Bomber ;)

One more thing : part of stellar sucess of Paradox HoI 4 was that starting date of 1936. and tech
but here's one idea - what if we can integrate 1936 War in West engine with Tech Tree that is interconnected of starting of production of some piece of equpment or tanks ;)
I know nobody would like Tiger roaming in 1940. but that could be interesting approach for engine expansion.
