Re: Questions Regarding LRDR, SBX-1 and GBI's

Thanks for the detailed report

Some of the things you mention may be a bug, we will look into it and come back to you.

I have uploaded a corrected version of the test scenario in my original post. The SLBM mission was not executing. My mistake. It should be working now. Sorry about that ...

Questions Regarding LRDR, SBX-1 and GBI's

I've been experimenting with the scenario from the book Nuclear War: A Scenario. Interesting book that came out in 2024. The scenario depicted in House of Dynamite is similar to the book but, it was not based on the book. I'm using v1.08 build 1706

Based on the attached test scenario I have the ...

Re: Questions about using a Copilot-generated lua script

Question...am I correct that you can simply add the script (assuming it has no errors) as the lua action, just pasting it in, and that's how you insert the script into the scenario?

Yes. Just make sure you use the GUID for the unit and sensors in your scenario. When the time trigger activates ...

Re: Questions about using a Copilot-generated lua script

Same issue that ChatGPT has, it's making up functions that don't exist.

ScenEdit_GetSensor, ScenEdit_SetSensorDamage, and ScenEdit_ScheduleEvent are not real functions.

I use ChatGPT for a lot of my scripting. It's a useful tool but you really need to have some knowledge of Lua in order to ...

Re: Setting unit proficiency help

This script worked for a group of 12 aircraft. In the example code groups of four are each set to a different proficiency. I"m not much of coder so I use AI, primarily CoPilot, to help. The AI doesn't always get it right but, along with Command Lua Docs it helps me to learn what can be done with Lua ...

Re: Aircraft Damage model: is it too forgiving?

Do some air-to-air missiles have proximity detonators? A near miss from a missile might then cause limited damage rather than destroy the aircraft. Just a quick thought.

Re: Looking back

I started playing Harpoon paper rules in early 1989. I remember working through a simple starter scenario with a friend; we were not very good at it. I still have that original boxed set tucked away.

When I saw a computer version of Harpoon being advertised, I think it was in USNI Proceedings, I ...

Refueling can certainly be finicky sometimes but, I just let the scenario save file run and both the P-8 and RC-135 refueled. Not seeing the problem if there is one.

The great thing of CMO is, that if you set the scenario time in CMO to this era, automatically the border between East- and West-Germany will appear.
Saves you time 8-)

I had no idea. It's in the manual too. My bad.

Re: Fun with maps and zones

Nice find.

Did you it get from GitHub?
https://github.com/zer0infinity/WorldFileTool.git

Still some steps to go through along with Google Earth Pro but, easier than using QGIS.

Re: Fun with maps and zones

I didn't know there is a georeferencing feature in GE Pro and I have been using it for years. Learn something new everyday.

I don't think we can add a georeferenced image from GE Pro into CMO (or is there a way to do that?). I only see .kmz files as an option for saving the image. Using the image ...

Re: Fun with maps and zones

I've been playing around with overlay maps and other zone-related features of Command and I wanted to share a few observations.

1. Overlay maps, unless you're already knowledgeable about the software you have to use to add reference coordinates, can be a real pain. I could probably learn how to ...

Re: Mapping out Jan Mayen

First, in the satellite image, you'll notice there are some round structures that look like towers of some kind. Are those water towers? Tanks of diesel fuel? What are they?

I believe those are fuel tanks. Vertical sides with a slightly peaked roof. The team there needs fuel to power there ...

Re: Installation

I can't speak to CMANO. I missed those years. If I were doing this I would install the most recent public release; v1.08 build 1676. Once you are confident you have that working you can move forward and install beta build 1706 if you want. Good luck.

Edit - you might have to install beta build 1674 ...

Hi, how do i install my CMO on my brand new computer?

I'm not an IT guy but, it should be similar to the process you used when you installed it on your old computer.

Steam version - download the Steam installer from the Steam website, install Steam, then log into Steam and download/install ...

Re: Custom maps, load?

The file sizes are directly related on the resolution and the size of the area you want to cover.

The file for the Yemen map is 827 KB (300 dpi). The overall size of the file for the example of Al Udeid Air Base is 48 MB (96 dpi).

I've not experienced any negative impact on scenario play with ...

Thanks for posting the Github resources. I do use the Maptiler extension in QGIS. Its a good tool to make a quick map. I have not used SAS Planet.

Here is an example map made with QGIS and Maptiler displayed in CMO-

Re: Custom maps, load?

Total beginner with this kind of thing asks...how do you create the initial georeferenced files? Or do you simply get them automatically when you copy the map overlay from whatever source you get it from? What is the process here?

I'm not aware of any free sources on the Internet that provide ...
