U-Boat Pens aren't mandatory targets past 1943.
The Typhoon might still be able to deal alright damage and disable the pens over multiple raids as well.

Re: Bombing the Reich Plane Comparer

I realised the other day that you couldn't compare fighter-bombers, due to a syntax error.

This version has fixed that problem.

Re: Recon question

The manual states:
A recon aircraft will take up to five photos during its mission; it will take a photo of its primary target and any secondary targets, then will take additional photos if it has film left and comes close to another target.

Does this work as described?

Thanks.

Re: Bombing the Reich Plane Comparer

I've updated the plane comparison tool.
The new stat is Internal Endurance, which is what the plane uses for combat (Drop tanks get dropped when in combat) and when the drop tanks are empty.
Total Endurance is Internal + Drop Tanks.

Also fixed a couple spelling errors.

Thanks for the info.

I think my R&D might be going a bit wonky in my game then. Just didn't seem like much progress was being made

Re: Feedback from V1.06.83 including Hotfix - Comments and Issues

Hi Cones2002,

On day 1 of the Long Campaign convert all the small acft engine factories ( the 1,2,3, and a few 4 capacity) to producing about 12 to 14 of the engine types you will need for; firstly the ME109G5 AS, then the 213A engine for the FW190D, the 213E engine for the TA152H, as many as I ...

Re: Feedback from V1.06.83 including Hotfix - Comments and Issues

I'm interested to know what planes you're using.

You also mention "(especially research for FW190D, TA152, and ME262)". You only gain research from 10 prototype airframes supposedly, so are you meaning you're actually doing more than 10 prototypes?
It seems like you pulled forward these airframes ...

Re: beginner Axis

Hello everyone,

I just bought the game last week, and I decided that before learning how to bomb, I’d like to first learn how to effectively play on the defending side. For that, I started a campaign in Bombing the Reich as the Axis. However, even after reading the manual, I’m still not sure how ...

Re: Bug on the Allies side and bug on the Axis side

I've played a handful more days since I did this report.

Still having issues with 4 a/c turning back 100+ fighter sweeps with little consequence.

Is this gonna be fixed in the next patch?

That's the idea. I am stuck on a glitch right now that has really got me stymied. The only solution I ...

Re: Axis Aircraft Production Question

Hi.
Having a full set of engine, parts and airframe in excess of a production line usually allows the finish of a complete aircraft but it can take several days to a week for it to happen for each one. (almost like the workers are doing it in their own time) BUT I have noticed that once you have ...

I have parts and engines. It's on priority 1 as well.

Axis Aircraft Production Question

I have 2 airframes left in my He 219A-2 stockpile for prototype production and I don't have an airframe factory on it.

I've been stuck with these 2 airframes for a handful of days without any new planes being put together and I have the parts for it.

Does not having an airframe factory assigned ...

I'm not sure if you can.

My attempts have done nothing and you take a decent amount of casualties doing so, depending on how it gets attacked.

Re: Bug on the Allies side and bug on the Axis side

10K feet power dive over 60 seconds is not extraordinary for most WW2 fighters. Basically your only limit is your max speed, so 300mph over 60 seconds at a steep angle will drop you down 20K feet if you can maintain control and consciousness.

There are so many factors involved that trying to ...

P-47s strafing Essen while escorting a 22k feet B-17 raid

Title says everything.

I had 96 P-47s close escorting a B-17 raid into the Ruhr.
B-17s bombed their target and next minute, the P-47s are strafing the Essen railyard instead of escorting the raid?

Intended behaviour?

If so, how can I avoid this in the future as it seriously compromises my ...

Question about maintenance and fuel consumption

Was browsing through the editor when I spotted something interesting.

The Bf 109 G-5/AS is only 80 minutes for maintenance but uses 2 fuel
The Bf 109 G-6 is 125 minutes but uses 1 fuel.

I thought the G-5/AS used a more complex engine, so is the maintenance value wrong?
I can understand the fuel ...

Re: Bug on the Allies side and bug on the Axis side

Hi.
Not sure about the 2nd issue being a bug, just an issue with the inaccuracy of the radar plot. Get your recon flight, the one at 35k plus right over the raid to get that accurate report before clicking intercept and no problems.
Only writing this as a long time LW player not a programmer. If ...

Bug on the Allies side and bug on the Axis side

Encountered 2 strange potential bugs.

First was on my Axis PBEM. My opponent sent a 100+ strong fighter sweep. I sent a 4 a/c flight to get recon but then my flight engaged, causing the entire enemy formation to drop their fuel tanks. They then attempted to bounce my recon flight and then headed ...
