Re: Withdrawal of Ground Units

Thanks for the responses guys

I also did a little research in the editor. Thought I would post it here in case anyone was wondering the same thing. From the editor manual:

Withdraw and Type of Withdraw is the date when the unit will be auto-withdrawn from the game.
This is a 6 digit number ...

Withdrawal of Ground Units

What happens to the elements (squads, artillery, AFV's etc) of ground units that are withdrawn? Do they disappear or are they returned to the pool?

Does it make a difference if the units are in an unrestricted command (and if that does make a difference, does transferring a unit to an unrestricted ...

Advice on best settings/scenario for a computer vs computer game please

Thought I would see what the computer could manage running over night

As per the title - would like a scenario where both AI sides are active (which I guess in this context means having scripts)

I guess combat animations must be off to avoid having to click past them. Continuous on.

I notice over ...

DL and sweeps

Does the DL of an enemy base affect the air combat result of fighter sweep missions?

So, all else being equal will the sweeping fighters generally get better exchange rates with the CAP if the base has been subject to recon and has a high DL?

Re: What solutions to mitigate the broken night air combat?

Your observations of the issues are spot on.

In my current game we have an HR that bans use of heavy bombers on night bombing until Japan has night fighters. This is my first game for 10 years and I can't remember if Japanese night fighters have the same issue - hoping not

Re: PT Boats

Cap Mandrake, that was it. Thanks for the link

At the risk of spamming my own thread with OT stuff, got one more piece:

Night Naval bombardment of Launceston at 82,176

Japanese Ships
CA Kako
CA Furutaka

Airbase hits 3
Airbase supply hits 1
Runway hits 9
Port hits 5
Port supply hits 1

Re: PT Boats

Well, thanks Chaps. It was a joint effort and we appreciate your kind words.

As for an AAR - for my part, the muse only takes me anywhere good about twice a year. I remember back when I was a regular on the boards there was an AAR by someone (name escapes me) who could post funny shit every day of ...

Night Time Surface Combat, near Bandjermasin at 59,101, Range 12,000 Yards

Japanese Ships

BB Kirishima
DD Shiranui
DD Urakaze

Allied Ships
MTB 7, Shell hits 1, and is sunk

Which prompted some light humour between me and my opponent - I thought I would ...

Re: PT Boats

So - bottom line.

Would you:

A) Feel dirty for using PT boats in this role and stop (again, my opponent has not complained even when I was making jokes about his invasion TF's never finding a home)

B) have an HR that says once out of torps PT boats must leave the base (of course this doesn't help ...

Long time player (since back when it was just WITP - though had a break of some years of recent - hence the new account)

Re: Looking for Opponent, Allied or Japanese Player Needed

Hi Garacho

I'm interested in taking up your offer for a game. Long time player (since the original version back in 2012) been away for some years I had to create a new account as I could not recover my old details and as a consequence, the board will not let me PM you.

Would prefer to play the ...
