RE: The interface

Thank you, Mr. Hunter, for your honesty. In an impersonal world where technology gets shoved down one's throat, your approach is certainly refreshing.

Questions and Comments

<t> I have 2 questions regarding detailed battles...and then a global comment below:<br/>

1. It seems like you can only select units in order...so if I move a unit, then move the next one, I cant go back and select the previous one....am I right or just plain missing something? It seems like ...

Question

<t> Although I think the manual is exhaustive, what it lacks is a tutorial walkthrough of the first few turns for each game level of difficulity. Its great to know what each button does, but in games of this magnitude (like WiTP), I sometimes start up a game and am like "now what?"....the AAR's help ...

RE: A question about buttons

...does it have something to do with the year i selected, as I ran a test and started a 2005 season with the Lahman database, and I had access to the Statistics/Reports and Almanac buttons....

A question about buttons

<t> I am simulating the 1906 season (as my hometown Superbas), using the 5.2 Lahman database. I have managed 2 games so far, and I have noticed that the buttons for "Statistics/Reports" and "Almanac" are still greyed out. Am I doing something wrong? I messed with another imported season a few days ...

To cross or not cross the dnepr

I own BIN and KP...is there anyone out there that can make a case for/against purchasing Across the Dnepr?

Your influence is appreciated.

deselect units

Please tell me there is a key command for deselecting units, as hunting and pecking for the binoculars icon is a real pain.

(BIn manual says "1" key does this, but it doesnt seem to work)

deselect units?

The manual says tap the "1" key to deselect all units, but that doesn't seem to work...please tell me there is a key command for this, as hunting and pecking for the binoculars icon is a real pain.

BIN vs KP

Aside from the obvious (geography, timeframe, forces), what (if any) are the differences between Battles in Normandy and Korsun Pocket?

RE: CGW - Wargame of the Year

Unfortunately, the blurb describing the game's award is a whopping 54 words, and takes up less than 1/8 the page with a screenshot the size of a postage stamp...just got my issue in the mail yesterday.

RE: Interface cumbersome?

<t> I totally agree, and I actually work in the CG industry....anyway, I guess my issue is primarily with unit information being in 3 places (on the counter, on the lower right panel of the interface and within a twice removed pop-up)<br/>

Dont get me wrong...love the game. Funny, it seems ...

Interface cumbersome?

<t> I am new to BIN, but a digital veteran when it comes to war/gaming. I had a comment on the interface. It seems that I have to go to 2 places to get information regarding a unit. First is the info available when I select a unit, which shows up in the Info Panel at the lower right of the interface ...

RE: OOB graphic question

What I am looking for is that graphic shown at the beginning of a scenario, not the text listing (which is a helpful tool in its own right)

I am a real graphic guy, and it really helps to see OOB's graphically laid out. Jyst my 2 cents.

RE: Ship Classes

...my mistake...I had just re-installed the game from the original cd (2002). In this iteration, ship classes weren't listed. As I re-patched (after my post), I see that this issue was resolved over the years.

Thanks again
