RE: Problem With Video Corruption

<t> Thanks for the reply. Before checking out your suggestion, I downloaded and installed the latest Catalyst 4.7 drivers from ATI but they didn't resolve my graphics problem. <br/>

RE: Problem With Video Corruption

<t> I'm also beginning to think it may be a problem with the ATI card. Despite my previous post where I indicated that my graphics problem seemed to have been resolved by turning down the colour from 32 bit to 16 bit, the problem has not gone away at all. The corruption continues even from a cold ...

RE: Problem with colours in v8.1

<t> I posted the same problem a couple of days ago under the header, "Problem with Video Corruption". You may want to check out the thread as there were a few ideas suggested. <br/>

I lowered my colour resolution from 32 bit to 16 bit and was able to play for 90 minutes without any graphic ...

RE: Problem With Video Corruption

<t> Thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond. <br/>

Turning down the colour from 32 bit to 16 bit seems to have done the trick. I've been able to play for 90 minutes straight without any graphics problems and usually the glitch shows up within 15 minutes. The Catalyst drivers I'm ...

Problem With Video Corruption

<t> Since running version 8.2, I've experienced periodic problems with video corruption. The game will be playing fine when, all of a sudden, the grass will flash from green to bright blue and then back again. When the grass goes back to green, however, the roads are blue and the smoke graphics are ...

TAO2 Under Win XP

I was just wondering if anyone knows whether SSG has any plans to modify TAO2 to work under Windows XP. I just upgraded my computer recently and was very disappointed to discover that TAO2 and some other favourites like East Front and West Front don't seem to run under this operating system.

<t>Sorry Rich, I didn't express that very well. With WIR you can scroll the screen simply by moving the mouse to the edge of the map. It's not necessary to click on arrows or use any hot keys. Given the size of the PacWar map, it would certainly be a nice time saver. I was just wondering if it might ...

Any Chance of a Scrollable Map?

While playing both PacWar and WIR on the weekend, I noticed that the map in WIR is scrollable without the mouse but the map in PacWar isn't. Given that both programs were written by Gary G. and both are currently being modified, is there any chance of introducing this enhancement to PacWar?

Lost North Africa on Turn One!!

<t>Started up a new campaign as the Germans on the weekend using version 2.1. Spent about 2 hours completing the very important first turn only to have the North African front surrender without a fight! I didn't move any units in or out of the Med during the turn so I'm at a loss as to why this ...

<t>I've always manually tracked losses in WIR to compare how well I'm doing from campaign to compaign. Losing track of aircraft losses prior to a save was always a 'feature' of the original PacWar. Started up a new game with version 2.1 on the weekend and noticed the same problem still exists. This ...

<r>I thought I read somewhere that the game could be played in either 640x480 or 800x600 resolution. Is this incorrect? I'm playing on a 15" monitor and I'd really like to switch to 640x480 because I find some of the smaller units very hard to find! I've tried changing the screen resolution on boot ...

<r>Thanks for the response Brent. After doing a bit more testing, it's clear that you can't play this game without copying the 57 meg opening credits video file to your hard drive. I tried re-naming a smaller smk file to vid988.smk but it wouldn't buy it. I even tried the old DOS trick of running ...

How do you run SPWAW Without Videos?

<t>I downloaded the version of SPWAW that includes video files. I loaded it up on my computer at work and everything runs fine. I then tried loading it up on my computer at home *without* copying the video files (space is a real problem) and I can't get the program to run. Tried running both intro ...
