A text file would be enough for me because I will probably print it no matter how it is presented. I'd want to see the battlefield at the same time as the piece of paper. I need something I can scribble on.

<t>An interesting idea, but I don't think game time would allow it. Unless I'm mistaken, even in '67 it took both Egyptian and Israeli armies several hours to put even a pontoon bridge across the Suez Canal. Same thing goes for repairing a bridge, unless you are talking about spanning destroyed ...

<t>Certain bridges should be immpossible in game time to destroy with artillery at all. Putting land under it is a nice workaround, but the problem really should eventually be addressed directly.<br/>

Drake666, that is wonderful! I had to cut that list and save it as a Word Doc. I just don't have access to that sort of info, although in general I'm pretty well read.

<t>I'm curious WB; when you are playing a monster like that, what "info" options do you use? Probably has to be fast artillery, but are you also turning off all the combat result info options? I tend to leave those on cuz I want to know why things are happening (or not), but it seems like a really ...

Yes, big problem. I've played anywhere from one to 10+ turns, and suddenly that error message appears and your game is over. I gave up.

I think it always happens when you are using the encripted file.

<t>Have you actually seen a documented case of a driver returning with a missing turret?<br/>
<br/>
IMO, it is almost impossible to "blow a turret off" by hitting it with an antitank round. When you see pictures of a tank with it's turret missing it is because the ammunition cooked off and lifted it ...

Yes, I sometimes included airstrikes just so I could get a peek at the enemy's rear area - not very realistic.

<t>Hi Fishu,<br/>
<br/>
Wow, have you actually fired that thing? Looks amazing!<br/>
<br/>
A minor nit with your last comment. Your argument is of course correct, but the B26 actually had 8 50cal guns in the nose. One aforementioned model of the B25 actually had a 75mm Howitzer AND 8 forward firing ...

<t>Dean, I agree that fighter pilots had to have guts, but once anyone's aircraft is actually hit by AAA the self preservation instinct takes over and the ground attack becomes secondary, to say nothing of the fact that the plane often begins to react differently to control inputs.<br/>

A suggestion for implimenting backing up with armor: If the attempted move is directly behind it's current hex, it is ASSSUMED to be backing up. The facing doesn't change and the movement cost is twice normal.

<t>Romad, you make some good points, but I suspect that most of the undoubted success of air strikes was against relatively weakly defended targets behind the lines. Convoys, trains, and the like. They made it very difficult for the Germans to move around during the day. When a force is not moving ...

<t>I was a tanker, and I have a few observations.<br/>
<br/>
1. Tanks back up up a lot in combat. It isn't a good idea to be behind one when it does that. They can't see you if they are buttoned up, and sometimes they are in a hurry. By the way WB, that is something glaringly missing. Tanks have to ...
