What a Fight! What a Fight!

Post by Wild Bill »

I am on turn 31 of 50, of a huge, I mean huge SPWAW battle, a recreation of the battle of Celles (Battle of the Bulge), between US 2nd Armored and the 84th Infantry, plus remnants of 3 Panzer divisions trying to get to the Meuse.

With 750 units, you can imagine the size of this map...Its big, let me tell you!

Now this is for the diehard SP'er, I assure you! But is it a lot of fun...and blood,...and carnage...and smoke. All this and more is part of the upcoming version 2.0 of Steel Panthers World at War.

Now where will I find testers for this 'Mastadon' of scenarios?

Get v2 in our hands, you should have no shortage of playtesters.

The better question might be, when do we get v2???

What are you trying to do wild bill, drive use crazy or what man. After tilling us something like this, you have better have that V2 done soon or we are going to have to go find a panzer and run you over with it.

Seriously, the patch would have been in your hands, but we are raking this one over the coals. David Heath is making sure that we are dealing with every problem we can find to make this one as right as possible.

That is the reason that it may take a few more days.

Get ready, Bing. Your help till now has been the warm-up for the real thing Image

And Drake, I'll see your panzer and raise you a Jumbo Image

I was only trying to let you know that we are at work, that was all Image

Glad to see the enthusiasm.

After getting my copy of SPWAW, I was amazed. I can't believe this is free. Thank you guys so much (especially Steeler). I was even more shocked to see the "Saving Private Ryan" scenario. I love that movie(and now the scenario). Hats off to you WB and all of the staff working on this game. I know V2 will be WELL worth the wait. Thanks again and keep up the excellent job guys!

See your jumbo and raise you a platoon of FJ with panzerfaust 100's Image.

Will the oob fixes be coming seperately to V2.0 as they were originally, or will they be released together now?

So you're going to call it V2? Let's see if I can get my hands on those scientists before the Soviets do.

Oh, I knew that Drake.. me too, wish I had a Jumbo...well, we won't go there Image

Thanks buddy. We're gonna get it to you. Remember, small consolation, but anticipation is half the fun, but in this case maybe one-eighth...cause you're gonna really have fun with this one.

Nate, your kind words are much appreciated. The support we get is wonderful.

I'm waiting just like you Troopie for the final word. ...Soon as I have a date, you'll have it, but I know David will release just as soon as possible.

Wish I could be more definitive...WB

I'll call Drake (G)!

I'm not sure. Probably one big zip with instructions on how to put it together. That is just a guess...WB

I'm curious WB; when you are playing a monster like that, what "info" options do you use? Probably has to be fast artillery, but are you also turning off all the combat result info options? I tend to leave those on cuz I want to know why things are happening (or not), but it seems like a really large battle would preclude that.

Hey there Schmoe (love that name!) Image

There are two kinds of eaters, the savorers and the devourers!

Some eat slowly, carefully, enjoying the juices and masticating thoroughly each mouthful. Image

Others wield a knife and fork like a weapon and rip through a meal in no time. Image

The kind of eater you are is probably the kind of wargamer that you are. Image

So, your choice. Take a week, or play continuously till its over, with bathroom breaks of course! Image

Start it up, see how it plays and make your settings accordingly.

Me? I'm kind of middle of the road. After retiring from a job of 23 years with strict scheduling, I'm a little more relaxed now and play that way.

You can enjoy each shot, or tear up the battlefield. See whatis comfortable for you!

And Antonious, at least that big! You'll have 10 sizes to choose from. You'll find one that fits! Image
