RE: My July 1861 mod. (more historic)

Could you save all the modified files as a group and zip it up so we could download it and make the same modifications as you did?

Thanks,

RE: Generals

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: General Quarters<br/> There is a terrific (though expensive) book, Civil War High Commands, published by Stanford Univ Press, that has chapters called "Grades and Ranks" for both of the armies. The generals are listed alphabetically and also in order of seniority i...

RE: Generals

Does anyone have a list of what ranks and positions the generals in this game held in 1860?&nbsp; It would be interesting to see who was in the army, and just a major, or captain, and who was a civilian.

RE: Camps? Where are they?

<t> Why not tie the basic game "camp" value to a&nbsp;factor&nbsp;of victory points?&nbsp;&nbsp; I would make it something like 500 troops for every victory point plus say 2K for each point of national will.&nbsp; So at the beginning of the game, you would be getting 500 troops e...

<t> This would only be necessary at the very beginning of the game, when a lot of units have "improvised" weaponry.&nbsp;&nbsp; I might want to downgrade several units that have springfields, give them minies, and try to get everyone on the roster up to at least muskets.&nbsp; <br/> &...

RE: New Civil War Scenarios for Future Patches

<t> Would it be possible to have a strictly naval scenerio?&nbsp;&nbsp; I know there wasn't much of a southern navy, but it would be cool to have to pick the appropriate admiral (could we just add in another general, who is an admiral, and assign him to a ship?) and then do some sort of deta...

RE: Game-Balance Improvements for Upcoming Patch

I would also like to put in my vote for both "Historical" and "Balanced" starting points.&nbsp;&nbsp; It seems that the players are pretty much split 50-50 on that point, so why not do both?&nbsp;&nbsp; I'm sure it's not that hard to set up.

RE: Great game....I think.

<t> Well, as was discussed in the "Generals" thread, in 1860, the Union Army was only 16,000 men total, they were mostly out west fighting indians.&nbsp; There were only *4* generals for the entire army, one was pushing 75 and was in bad health, one was&nbsp;the chief army&nbsp;doctor, a...

RE: Commanders.txt

That was it exactly.
Upon further examination, it appears the original sort order was by Chance, then by Number, then by Nation.
Works perfectly now.

Thanks!

Several minor bugs I noticed...

<t> 1. When you have a big list on the military screen, and you have scrolled down to the bottom of the list, and you turn several sort buttons at the bottom off, you are left with a blank screen and the scroll bar at the right is messed up. You can fiddle around with the up/down arrows and it comes...
