Re: 1128b - bugs and issues

Okay, so those map mods will not be usable.

I anticipate, broadly speaking, that a modded scenario made for the 1126B version standard map will work to a reasonable extent in the 1128 version thereof (which omits the various off map changes, and adds new things in previously vacant data lines ...

Was there no Japanese team member to fix the issues in Japanese side?
Yet, the paucity of replacement allied airframes was not fixed.

Re: Long Road to Tokyo

Why was the Long Road to Tokyo scenario by IanR omitted from the Scenarios Available page?

I've been trying to find a way to hook up someone I met on the WitW forum with it and am having no end of difficulties.

Does anyone still have a link to it?

The scenario didn't work any more with the ...

Re: Carrier air groups have vanished

That doesn't explain how the Marine air squadrons got there though. I wonder if he has not patched the game from it's initial release version or has patched to the new 1127Beta and then back to the 1126a or 1126B version. That could play heck with the database.

I keep hoping he will provide ...

Apart the old unexperienced or experienced player as bbfanboy said

the consequences of an unintended disband far outweigh the occasional keystroke of Y or N

and this can happen to everyone.

Saving often is a correct action but is done mainly to not restart a turn that normally take a lot of ...

New and inexperienced is NOT the problem. Old, poor eyesight, shaky hands, fading coordination and Microsoft's software that lets the cursor continue moving after the hand has stopped is the problem. And as others have pointed out - the consequences of an unintended disband far outweigh the ...

So, CV Saratoga took a torpedo, 30 flotation damage, (snip for emphasis)

Did the carrier have, in total, 50 plus damage of any/all types, and did it have aircraft aloft on ops at the time it was hit?

No, a single torpedo, 31 Flotation damage. I then sailed Saratoga to Noumea. Two days ...

Re: New! v1127 Public Beta Available

Is the whole "Disband TF confirmation button" really necessary though? We already go through so many clicks in the game and now they want to add even more clicks to that LOL.

Because accidental disbandment causes way more clicks and grief than one extra click to confirm the disbandment. At ...

Yes, I'm running it on Windows 11, version 23H2, OS build 22631.4037. In a window with the shortcut switches set to -pxf2368 -pyf1332 -wd -skipVideo -deepColor -dd_sw -wd -altfont -archive - multiaudio.

Re: Kamikaze settings in the editor

The trigger is, IIRC, the allies, prior to 440101, take a base from the IJ within 20* sea hexes of Tokyo, Takao or Saigon. It also triggers on 440101 anyway.

[* Old references to 15 hexes appear to be an artifact from vanilla WITP.]

Re: War in the Pacific 2

Recent game titles solely covering the Pacific War have been much simpler and more abstracted. In terms of sheer detail WitP/AE likely represents a bar too difficult to top nowadays so I doubt we'll ever see a game on the subject quite like it again.

This is an interesting point, well said. It ...

is there an active link to your mod?

I don't want to sound negative, but this v27 patch doesn't look good to me (to put it mildly), even though I'd love to be wrong.
My point is, there will be many people sticking to 26b or having multiple instances of the game active to play different mods on ...

Re: New! v1127 Public Beta Available

A big THANK YOU to the v1127 team for adding near term withdrawal dates to so many of the Dutch submarines. It was a major pet peeve to see most of them running rampant through the SRA for the entirety of the war. In real life, half of them (9 of 18) never made it past March 1942, and the ...
