RE: shrapnell vs matrix edition???

<t> One of the things which I like about SPCamo is that they produced SPMBT. I enjoy the modern game aspects of MBT. I enjoy and prefer the use of the modern weapons Additionally, it is very relavant to things going on today. I also like the use of the larger maps and more units. I think this gives ...

RE: Simply loving it!!!

<t> Thanks for the in depth detailed reply. I guess that this game is seems to be more on an individual level with morale and other factors taken into account. The terrain graphics look more realistic, almost like real terrain. I guess I'll wait. But it would be nice to see a total upgrade ...

RE: Simply loving it!!!

<t> Hey, how does this game compare to SPMBT? The graphics that I have seen look more realistic. Does this game have the versatility that is in SP? Are there helos, amphibious ops, paratroopers etc? Does this game have a complete OOB for the Army as well as the Marines? How many other nations are ...

RE: The perfect wargame

<t> Does anyone know why Steel Panthers III did not do well? I just reloaded it and I like the idea. Other than the fact that it has a dated game engine, and does not have mobhack to make adjustments. I think that if it had the capability of SPWAW/SPMBT it would be a great game. What do you guys ...

RE: The perfect wargame

<t> My idea for a perfect wargame would be a cross between the Steel Panters series and TOAOW. You would start off with a screen with TOAW where you would deploy brigade, divisional and corps size units. Then when these units become engaged with the enemy you would have the option to play in this ...

RE: How do you like your Counter Style?

I agree with the above. The use of NATO symbols gives a game a more realistic look.

RE: Nice Camo Pattern

<t> [:D]If a picture of a naked girl makes Al-Queda have to kill themselves we should paint pictures of naked girls on all our aircraft just like the sharks teeth of the Flying Tigers! We won't even have to use ammo, just keep flying over them. We can start at the madrasas and nip this stuff in the ...

RE: Your Favorite Computer Based Wargame

I only play two games (I guess I should expand my horizons a bit) SPWAW and SPMBT. I am interested though in War in the Pacific since I would like to play some type of naval game with the ability to manuever ships.

RE: "Flags of Our Fathers" US Trailer Released

[8D] This does look like it will be one good movie! I'm glad to see that they are using actual real equipment. Also have you seen the trailers for that other war movie; Flyboys? This is about aerial combat during WWI. This looks interesting also.

RE: Book about tanks and armored vehicles of Russia

Here is a good book by Steven Zaloga (an expert in the field): Red Army Handbook 1939-1945. This is a soft cover book that covers all aspects of the Soviet Army (armor, infantry, arty, cavalry, and airborne) . It has good charts and photos.

I saw it also, it looks pretty intense. I also looked at the still photos and was surprised that they were able to get a hold of some LVTs and LVT (A)s. I think the movie comes out in September/October.

I remember singing that song when I was in ROTC summer camp in the 70s. I just heard it again while watching Band of Brothres.
