Definitely MegaMek. I'm sure hour count with it has passed Civilization already [8D]
MekWars is my primary mean to play MegaMek. MegaMekNET server is my favourite but sometimes I hang out on TotalTech and used to play on Nuclear Winter when it was up and running.

One comment:  I invested in Russo-German War, but it will NOT run on Windows XP, even in Win 98 compatibility mode.   It did run on my old (dead) PC, but not on my newer one.   DAMN Microsoft and their inability to be backwards-compatible! [:@]
Don't throw away your old PCs and you can play what ever you like.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

I suupose the most time I currently spend playing is with Civ4, whereas the one I've probably played the most would have to have been either Panzer Strike or WIR.

War in the Pacific.

Prior to that it was Uncommon Valor.

Years ago it was Steel Panthers.

X-Com UFO Defense, and Star Control 2, if these count as wargames. IMHO, the two best computer games of *any* genre, ever.

I only play two games (I guess I should expand my horizons a bit) SPWAW and SPMBT. I am interested though in War in the Pacific since I would like to play some type of naval game with the ability to manuever ships.

New to this site, but not the games.
Favorites include Close Combat, V4V, and HQ Command (a rather quaint game which was not turn based and had limited visiblity, making for surprises on the opponents flanks).

Randy, you don't maneuver ships in WITP. It's scale is such that you create task forces, give them a destination and a job to do and hope that they do a decent job of it. I just didn't want you to have the wrong expectations of my favorite game...

I would still have to stick with Panzer General, despise somewhat outdated graphics I still find the game very enjoyable. But as Neilster said, that is bound to change when MWiF is released!

*edit* Oh and I completely forgot Navyfield, sailing ww2 ships and blowing other ships up kinda works for me although the game has serious lacks of content imho. But for 30min-1 hour every now and then it works.

In that case, I recommend you Battle Isle 3, if you can find it somewhere. Works on Windows XP just fine and resolution goes up to 1600x1200 [:D]

Go here http://users.skynet.be/rmypegww2/
Great site. It's main purpose is to make it possible too play Panzer General 2 campaigns with Peoples General game.
It takes some work to get it going but it's worth it.
I think you can find links both to Panzer General and Allied General there as well. No problem for me playing on XP.

Edit:
When I say no problem on XP I meant PG2 and Peoples General.
I think Allied General is OK as well, but I'm not sure. Don't know about Panzer General.
