Wargames in comparison

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Instead of reading about the constant minor and unimportant bug reports...<br/>
I'd like to discuss about the experiences on other wargames in comparison to SPWAW. What games do you play, or has SPWAW really wiped out all competition.<br/>
I hope this stays within the rules.<br ...

<t>Dwarf. Actually, I think I must take a step back here. Browsing through a finnish war "documentary" -book... I must admit that this is exactly the same kind of hype about finnish soldiers... :p Eh. So, guess it's a "writer's nationality" -thing. Doesn't bother too much when you are reading hype ...

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Nothing agaist the US as such, but I feel that they've had overpresentation in WW2 wargames (european theather). The war was fought and won in the East, in "the vastness of Russia". <br/>
<br/>
Granted, Russians were given material aid and allied bombings reduced german industrial ...

I continued that Carentan scenario last night (hadn't read your post then, though), and made some progress. (Guess it's a state of mind just how carefully one is willing to concentrate on city -fighting. Last night I did pretty well.) <br ...

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Since this thread is about tactics, I want to make few comments about city fighting... <br/>
<br/>
First, I have been playing SP-series since SP1, so I should know the tactics. Trouble is, that I am way too impatient to play city-scenarios the way they should be played. <br/>

Uhhuh... Maybe I was too harsh in my wording. Really wasn't my intention to sound hostile, as I did. I wanted to get some word in when it comes to discussion my countrymen fighting the WW2.<br/>
<br/>
On this other forum (third reich factbook something), which DID annoy me ...

<r>Finland NEVER surrendered. We made cease-fire and later peace, Paris 1948. Finland fought all summer 1944 with great success in Tali-Ihantala defensive battles, and finnish army was never routed/beated. Russians agreed to cease fire after their grand offensive had ground to standstill and having ...

Actually, I don't think finns made lots of noise in battle. Shouting battle cries isn't really finnish way. More shooting and less chatter... in combat *grin*. In spwaw, having played as finns (my countrymen), I remember hearing "Tulta!" (=Fire!)... "Hakkaa paalle" would be a ...

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I am obsessed about campaign being historical... To be honest, I am sorry to say that the campaign you described is bit too loosely based on WWII for my taste.<br/>
<br/>
But there's some idea in making a campaign about small-scale battlegroup kind of action in various battles of ...

<t>Thanks for clarification... Uh, you see, my boss keeps sneaking behind me (though I hear him miles away and I've never gotten caught) so I rarely have the time to read this board enough to keep track. Besides, I have this flu. Yeah. That's why the bewilderment on my part. *grin*.<br/>

Oops, Eh, forgot. Good work, this v3. I like this game; been around since Steel Panthers 1 and SPWAW is the best Steel Panthers I've seen so far.
