Re: Channel Island Supply

Thanks very much. It just seems like a strange way the game handles it.

Channel Island Supply

I may have just missed it but is there a way to supply the Channel Islands besides by air? As near as I can tell, from turn 1 on the islands receive no supply. That simply seems odd.

RE: Trying Hard To Like This Game, But ...

<t> I agree WWI Gold or it's update WWI CE overall provides the best "feel" of any WWI game for the period. It is a great game. The downsides as mentioned are that it is an area game and that as far as I can tell it is no longer supported. The CE version got rid of a lot of the clunky aspects of ...

<t> From what I've seen the problem is not driven by the research/tech inequality. That part seems to work pretty well.<br/>
<br/>
It seems like to me the problem has more to do with the CRT results. All do respect to some of the earlier comments regarding netting attack/counter-attack losses ...

RE: Trying Hard To Like This Game, But ...

<t> Undoubtedly we all have our favorite WWI games. Sadly most have significant flaws. IMHO the best by far is/was WWI CE. <br/>
<br/>
I cannot disagree that the overall feel and pattern of the war can generally be created by the game. The mechanics certainly enable a stalemate and some other ...

<t> I should preface my comments by admitting I'm an old Grognard and my idea of a perfect game is still WITPAE.<br/>
<br/>
Since not many of my type of games are being published these days, when I received a nice 50% discount for having been around Matrix for 20 years I decided to use it on the ...

RE: The Blue Max 2D Counter and Map Mod

<t> Thank you for your work on this mod. It really seems like it will add a lot to the feel of the game. <br/>
<br/>
Unfortunately I am running into a problem. The mod seems to be loaded and working ok. The map has changed as have the unit graphics. When I do certain functions though, the game ...

* Closed* Looking For "1914 Call To Arms" Opponent

Looking for an opponent for my first Strategic Command WWI MP game. Seeking an Entente opponent to play 1914 Call To Arms. Am fairly new to this game series but longtime WITPAE grognard. Located in the US ET Zone.

Please PM if interested.

RE: Flying Fighters As Bombers

Thanks Courtenay. Found it. Forgot to look in RAC.

Could you point me to required/desired garrisons of occupied or conquered countries. I could find no charts or such in any of the rule books.

<t> My apologies Courtenay. It was a parenthesis not a slash. I see now how the box impacts the values.<br/>

RE: Flying Fighters As Bombers

<t> Thank you very much Steve. That did the job. An interesting side note. I use multiple screen displays and it appears that the scales for both screens must be set to 100%. The main screen which I use to display the detail map was set to 100% scale. My smaller laptop screen was set to 125%. When I ...

I tried the + then -. I also closed the detail map completely and then opened a new detailed map. Unfortunately neither worked. The Flyout Form is still a couple of inches from the subject hex. I can send you a screen shot if that is of any help.<br ...

<t> Thank you all for your help. I have to admit I am finding the game itself really interesting but the learning curve on the interface seems a bit difficult to master at least for me. <br/>

Flying Fighters As Bombers

Working through the interface and one thing I have not been able to figure out how to do is to designate a fighter to act as a bomber in a ground strike or ground support.

Could someone please explain how to do this?

Thank you.

When hovering over a city with the mouse pointer, the city name in the tooltip does not seem to change. It continues to display the same name regardless what city the pointer is over.

Saw some promising looking artwork of factories and such. Has something been added in IV in this area?
