I highly recommend a little applet called "Zoomit". https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysin ... ads/zoomit. I have used it with AE, and it is a god-send: you can zoom the map easily to make things a LOT easier on the eyes, and can scroll around while zoomed.

Same issue with Win10. I ran in full screen for years, but eventually changes in Win10 made me switch to windowed mode. Otherwise I had EXTREME lag.

Are you playing in windowed mode or full screen? I have never been able to get rid of the lag in recent versions while playing full screen; but it works fine in windowed mode.

Some restricted units are permanently restricted; others can be changed to an unrestricted command by paying political points. If you click the restricted command for the unit, you can see if it can be changed.

Your target for the shortcut is the autorun file. You need to change the target to the .exe for the game, and apply the switches to that file. For example, my shortcut with switches is: "D:\Matrix Games\Latest Version WITP AE\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont --multiaudio --...

I typically have an ASW TF of 4 DEs accompanying my CVs; seems to work, and you can always detach them if the carriers need to make a high-speed run.

I've had a couple of different monikers due to account issues, but I've been here since the beginning (meaning UV-days).

I think I had that problem one time in the distant past, and a reboot (per GP) solved it.

Results depend heavily on the experience of the ASW units. If it is early in the war, you won't be sinking much.

One small item I have noticed: If you pull pilots (including all of them) out of a squadron to send to reserve and then replace them with pilots from the Replacement pool, the game does not recalculate the average experience of the pilots on the squadron screen.

Well, this thread caused me to notice that, at some undetermined time in the past, I lost my weather map graphic. The hotkey still shows the zones, but there is no underlying map graphic (leading me to believe that the file must have inadvertantly been deleted). Can someone tell me the file name for...

And remember, carrier-capable is a characteristic of the airframe; carrier-trained relates to the squadron itself.

Especially the Wildebeasts. I suspect they cannot carry torps when they have DTs (but can't remember for sure).

Apart from an AS, the ability to load torps is based on port size; it's in the rules.

Also, remember that for some aircraft droptanks do not become available until months after the aircraft is introduced. I don't know of any way to see what this date is in advance except to go into the editor and check.
