Re: Allied China supply - December 1941

That is kind of realistic.

China's WWII Army did not function like the other Allied Armies. In other Armies, despite inter-service rivalries and ego fights, everybody was fighting for a common goal. Not so in China's Army. Chiang only controlled a bit more than a quarter of the Chinese troops ...

Re: Oil Repair

From what I have read, the 150 damaged Miri oil is not " under development", it is the result of deliberate sabotage. The Brits had prepared a "denial scheme" pre-war and did put it into action when they sensed an aggressive move was going to happen soon. They started to remove key machinery ...

Fresh version for testers

Hi,

I have uploaded updated Bottlenecks files on Dropbox

Nothing fancy, just some polishing, error-fixing and minor tweaking.

Incomplete change-log for version 2026A:
- corrected duplicate B-17 slots
- fixed recombination error of NZ division

Re: Political Point use

My 0.02 Euro cents:

PPs should be spent in order of importance to 1. replace really bad leaders, 2. to buy-out restricted air units and 3. to buy-out restricted ground units.

PPs are precious and should not be wasted. For example, changing leaders on non-combat ships and rear-area base forces ...

Re: Engineers in Reserve and industry damage

I think that there is a large random factor involved. In my current H2H, Hong Kong facilities have been absolutely destroyed without using any 'special tactics' on the Allied side.

Re: AV Wright in Fast Transport TF

FT missions usually headed for locations without port facilities, but where some heavy weapons would be welcome. The DDs usually used for FT missions could only carry troops and supplies. The cranes aboard the AVs that were used to lower and raise seaplanes were useful to unload arty and tanks into ...

No worries, as long as Rafe McCawley and Danny Walker are on Hornet's pilot roster, all is well.

Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

That is because the name does not allow to rename ships (except the USN replacement 'II" still building). With a conversion of xAP Argentina Maru, you will get a CVE Argentina Maru. Or the xAP needs to be named Kaiyō.
Third option I have used in my mod is a name like "Argentina Maru/Kaiyo" - not ...

Re: Logistics

I just use my brain and the option to give TFs a name that indicates its purpose. I try to form convoys of ships of the same class or at least close in speed and size. Tailored to the port sizes, using a hub-and-spoke system with large ships for long distance CS runs behind the front and smaller ...

Re: Monsoon locations

Thanks Skyros, good tip.

After verification, my mod is almost good - the current, unpublished version that is.

I have added a " symbol (for rain) behind the location name of each base with ME box checked in the editor, then checked in-game if there are bases in the monsoon area without the ...

An off-map base for the Axis like "Occupied France" would ne nice for blockade-running merchant ships, raiders and U-Boats 😇

Do the Allies also have issues with supplying units and bases early on?

They are supposed to.

First of all, gone are the days of 1945 supply and fuel production levels on Dec 07, 1941.
Many Allied LI, HI, refineries, shipyards as well as oil and resource centres start damaged and need to be ...

Re: Hittin' the bottle again...

In Bottlenecks, I have tried to inject a bit more realism. Japan will have a much harder time to launch and sustain deep strikes, for the same reasons the Japanese did not try to invade India, Australia, NZ or US territories in the real war - lack of troops, lack of merchant shipping to keep the ...

Thanks folks, but I am sorry to disappoint you - my opponent has dropped out due to real-life events (career change) and the game has ended in early September 1942.

Re: Lesser-Known Ships of the Pacific War - RFA Fast Leaf Class Oilers

I have Pearleaf in my mod, but I have missed Appleleaf.

And I realise now that the stats in my mod are wildly off :(

About 5900 GRT, 14 knots speed. Art work resembles Bitmap 516, masts and funnel not quite right but close enough for me.
